Re: Why I'm an Atheist
Whether one accepts his conclusion about the existence of God or not, I think everyone could find a lot of interesting perspectives and things to think about from that piece.

Interesting. I like lot of what he says, and he's RESPECTFUL in his saying.

Totally different approach from George Carlin. I went to a Christmas Party a few years ago and they said to bring an ornament of your favorite religious belief/superstar/whatever. It was hard to find a Carlin ornamnet!!!ChiOCat wrote:Interesting. I like lot of what he says, and he's RESPECTFUL in his saying.

Re: Why I'm an Atheist
Interesting piece ... but he seems to contradict himself a bit. He says he hates religion, but then proceeds to talk about the Bible as though it was literal history and not merely the words of man (which is one the aspects of religion that he hates).
I could see a person saying that they love the philosophy attributed to Jesus while hating religion (that seems possible and plausible), but he seems to be saying he hates religion while preaching the Bible ... which is preaching a religion.
He definitely makes some good points about how some people use religion, though.
