The Cat O is going to have it's hands full in this one. NDSU has a pretty stout defense. If the Cats can run on them, they have a chance. If NDSU shuts down the run game, this one gets ugly.
NDSU will score on the Cats D (or lack there of). I also question the physicality of the Cat team. They need to get nasty because NDSU plays with a chip on it's shoulder.
NDSU - 34
Cats - 20

I don't think we'll have to settle for as many field goals as against SFA (who by the way responded pretty well by slapping Western Illinois around pretty badly) plus I suspect we'll probably see some no huddle in order to get the offense in some kind of rythmn. I think many NDSU folks will be heading home (or to the parking lot) by the end of the third quarter and it'll look respectable only because our young kids will get some PT.

Who has NDSU beaten to annoint them as so great this year. A week ago with us being 1-1 you all were saying this was the greatest bobcat team ever. Now after a loss theres talk of complete changes in the program and how poor our offense and defense is. NDSU had a good win on the road. It remains to be seen how that team will fair. Then they beat Weber at home. I would hope that our feeling is that we beat weber that bad at home. One look at the NAU game from last year and it shows that it is just one week. Look what happened to us after that. Remember we lost to Central Washington and then made the playoffs.

With all due respect to the Bison and their program, this Saturday is going to prove a tough place to play.
1) The Cats will come out looking to show EVERYONE that they are the real deal. As much as I agree with the fact that we always have one let down game every year. We also seem to come back after it and play hard, hard, hard.
2) The stadium is going to be rocking with over 14,000 crazy fans that will be making some serious thunder when the Bison have the ball.
3) Any team that comes in here from lower elevations always has problems in the second half due to fatigue.
I still look for a good game. But, my heart and my head both say the 'Cats will take this one 31-24.

I agree with your statement somewhat; the high ranking does seem a bit premature. However, it was the quality of this convincing road win in the eyes of many national pollsters who have done the annointing. Our team looked VERY solid in that game and the two others, albeit against weaker competition. In the last two games we've scored TDs on offense, defense and special teams. A win against the Cats would go a long way in my mind of justifying such a high ranking. Keep in mind as well that the Bison are 3-0. What makes a team great? Win the games you're supposed to and a good share of those you're not! Thus far in DI-AA NDSU has lived up to that. I look forward to the begininning of a very good rivalry this weekend. Except during the Bison game: go Bobcats!tetoncat wrote:Who has NDSU beaten to annoint them as so great this year. God I love your optimism and I hope you're right. The team I saw play Sat. night will not beat the Bison. I'm hoping the real Bobcat team shows up...Cat Grad wrote:As a heart attack.
