Montana High School Football Potential Recruits
It is early in the high school season but thought it would be interesting to discuss pootential 1-AA recruits from within the State of Montana. Who do you think is a potential recruit by position:
QB
RB
OL
WR
DL
LB
CB/S
K
There are fans from all areas of Montana and outside that might know of a hidden talent or two and the obvious standouts. Might be interesting!

I love this post. I know the coaches always have their ear to the ground. But, there are always those few that the coaches just didn't know about.
Now I"m going to have to really start paying attention to the high school results more. Some names that I'll throw out.
QB: Mark Desin - I think he's just a junior but he can really throw the ball
LB: Halgren kid from Belgrade really puts a stick on people
DE: Ol' what's-his-name from Billings West. I can't think of it right now but one heck of a player.
Maybe the entire team of Billings West the way they have been playing this year to date. I watched them completely embarass the Hawks and was happy that they've done it to two other teams as well.

Brad Sternberg OL Helena HS (6'4, 260 1st All-State his Jr year) would have been on the list, but he suffered a season ending knee injury during pre-season practices. It will be interesting to see what happens with him. I would still love to see him become a Bobcat, but I'm not sure if we will offer after this injury. He is very smart and athletic, and has the potential to be a very good OL.Wolfman wrote:Selle will be a Griz. Count on it.

Unfortunately, everyone has to wait nearly 4 years for THE top athletic phenom in the state:
6'8", 200 lb FRESHMAN Brock Oswiler, Flathead High. Currently splitting time at QB for the Braves. I'm not sold on him as a QB yet, but he's got a gun for an arm and will obviously get better with time.
I believe some national publication(s) already are listing Brock as one of the top High School BBall recruits in the nation.

I wouldn't count on it. His brother had a terrible experience there, and I know Kramer was on him early.

I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.

If you're looking for an athlete... You will have to look no further than Montana. Desin senior qb doing very well... Stubbs just got back from some injuries very good lineman. Savage is also a stud.. But another surprise was when our Falcons played GFH in Billings was #15... He caught two big passes and was all over the field on defense. I am shocked that the Bison got beat bad against Flathead. But I guess that is what happens when youre star runningback is out. But who is # 15 for GFH he is tall and very athletic. He played TE and DE. Someone Kramer should look into.

I don't agree with that #15 for GFH; slow and dropped about 3 passes last night vs the Braves.
The Brave D is very, very good. Lack of even an average QB thus far, however, means they won't blow out anyone...
It's too bad; Flathead has had some great QB's over the years; now, just when Grady cranks the D up significantly, he doesn't have anyone who can throw consistently...
I see the Braves getting the 5 or 6 seed into the playoffs, with a good chance of a 1st round win. Then it would most likely mean a trip to Billings & they're offense better improve IMMENSELY if they hope to win over there.

Don't try to influence the kid at all!! To do so, starts down a slippery slope to an NCAA violation! Let Kramer do his job.

Was at the game in the rain Flathead played well. #15 only dropped two and one was way over his 6'6" frame. If you think he is slow think again he has to play both ways the entire game and moves pretty well. Knowing the kids family doubtful he would choose football over hoops. But I think its great this kid has options.El_Gato wrote:I don't agree with that #15 for GFH; slow and dropped about 3 passes last night vs the Braves.

You can press him alright, but keep your wallet in your back pocket! And for God's sake put the title in Andrew's name, not yours!mslacat wrote:I am breaching my self-imposed ban from the board to say:BobCatFan wrote:Use your influence to keep him from going to the dark side.longhorn_22 wrote:You don't know what you are talking about.
