It's a beautiful setting (I guess that makes it distinct from anything on the hill in Butte), but not a great stadium at this point. I'll have to search out a display down there that shows what it is supposed to look like after it is renovated. There aren't many towns out there that are in a nicer location than SLO ... but I wish they wouldn't start taking down seating when the Cats are coming to town!

When I played in Cal Poly their stadium reminded me of a high school field. The headsets mysteriously didn't work for the Cats' coaching staff, but Cal Poly's staff didn't have any problems and they didn't hesitate to use their headsets for the entire game. I am still ticked off about that!

They do have a very nice campus though.

There is a drawing of the stadium update at the following link http://www.gopoly.com/news/20052006/Renovation.html.

Seating is down to 7,500 this season. They had a ground breaking ceremony last Saturday on a 21.5 million dollar renovation. This is the first phase of four phases. It includes new west side stands with new press stand and 8 donar suites and a new Sprinturf field. Next years capacity will be 10,000 and will be over 14,000 when all four phases are completed. For this season there is seating on the east side and in both endzones. I have seen nicer high school stadiums, but should look great if you come back in two years.
