Little League World Series

We need to get those kids here for a game, and introduce them on the field, win or lose the championship. It's never too early to recruit fans and potential future Bobcats. Keep them away from hippie ville.
What a rush to have 18,000 fans cheering and shaking cowbells. I'd bet those lids would remember that forever also.

That was one of the best little league games I have seen played in quite sometime. Both teams have great fundimentals and skills. It is amazing that with the weather diffrence between MT and CA. that we can even compete. This Billings team is something special! So I will be in Billings this weekend. Was planning on goin to the horse races saturday but that changed after I saw this game (US championship) will be on at 1. So where have all you Billings folks been watchin these games? I would love to watch it with a big crowd. Was thinking maybe BWW? Is there anywhere else?

Wow-That was a great game. Great defense for our Billings boys. There were several times when the bases were loaded ant thought we had a good run and the CA boys would score on us. But they came throug.

I have seen many hockey and soccer games where the stronger teams had ample opportunity to take over the game but it comes down to one play for the other team. That is waht it takes. Reminded me of the US women's soccer team against Japan-should have destroyed them but they could never put the ball in goal.

I'm not in Billings any longer but a friend of mine uploaded a video on facebook from the crowd at Hooligans (downtown) when the game-winning homerun was hit.......that place exploded similar to Bobcat Stadium when Corey Smith took that opening kickoff to the house against the griz. They have a good atmosphere and good food as well.

My family and some friends were at BWW in Bozeman to watch the game last night. Place was as packed as it is for an NFL Sunday, with everyone cheering every hit, every out for the Billings boys. Place absolutely erupted when the kid hit the walk off. Was truly awesome.

As great as the Montana story is, and it is one of the best sports stories of the year, eventually the magic runs out and the best teams prevail. It happens in professional sports all the time, so what is the difference in this case?

California is the better team and will prove that over the course of the next two games.

Montana deserves praise for making it as far as they have, but the run will come to an end against California on Saturday afternoon.

I belive that:
Winner of Saturday's game plays the International Winner.
Loser of Saturday's game plays in consolation against International loser.

yes. but we still will play an international team no matter what on sunday. if we lose to cali on saturday they move on to the world championship on saturday and we move into the "world consolation" if you will...

at least this is my understanding of it.

I originally thought the same thing, but they explained last night during the broadcast that the US and International Finals were 1-game only.

This is correct. With the pitch count and rest rules in Little League, it would be very difficult to have pure "double elimination" at this point in the tournament and showcase the best of the teams. The incentive to be the undefeated team in the rest time. Extra games mean extra pitches and pitchers used, which restricts the one loss teams more as they get to the final game. Many times their "ace" is needs to be used to just get the the title game. Just like Montana did last night.

This format seems grossly unfair. Cali and Montana could each finish with one loss, having split thier two head to head games, but Cali would win the championship. I'm sorry, but that's just not right IMHO.

Sounds like some kind of BCS bullcrap to me. How is that fair. If it is double elimination, then it should stay double elimination throughout the tourney.
