Bass and Jensen in/Domenick and DeCock Out
I think both of these moves are a great idea. I think Bass was way ahead of JD and DeCock really did struggle.

This really sums it up:
Sounds like the right decision to me.Bass, a senior, scored MSU's only touchdown last Saturday in a 15-10 loss at Oklahoma State. He finished with 31 yards on six carries, including successive 11-yard runs in the second quarter.
Justin Domineck started against OSU and ran for just 10 yards on nine carries.

I like JD adn am sad to see that he won't start on saturday. He sure as hell better be in there when a pass play is called, though. He sure is a good blocker.
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

The only problem with putting JD in during pass plays, is that he is a pretty good key for the play call. you may not know if it is going to be a screen or a deep post, but you can safely bet that it will be a pass if the only time he is in is on passes. I'm sure Kramer will keep it mixed up pretty well to ensure that teams aren't going to be able to key off of JD as a pass play. Hopefully Bass will pick up his blocking abilities a little bit and JD will be able to pick up some yards on the ground so teams won't know what to the offense will do!grizzh8r wrote:I like JD adn am sad to see that he won't start on saturday. They can't really just put him in there in passing plays really though as I still think the D would play the pass. It has to be a combination of split backs with Bass maybe as just putting JD in will more than likely give away our play. Now can the Defense stop us even while know pass or run .. that is the kickergrizzh8r wrote:I like JD adn am sad to see that he won't start on saturday. True. I did not elaborate, and I understand the deception bit, but lets hope he is just happens to be in on a higher percent of the passing plays.coachouert wrote:The only problem with putting JD in during pass plays, is that he is a pretty good key for the play call. you may not know if it is going to be a screen or a deep post, but you can safely bet that it will be a pass if the only time he is in is on passes. IMHO, this may have been Kramers plan all along. We all know the kind of depth we have at certain positions. Kramer probably wants to see how DeCook responds as well as Dominick. When you have 14 or 15 guys that can start on offense, you want to find the best combination on the field. Same at corner.
From what I have seen of Kramer's teams, he usually doesn't have confirmed starters at some postions until the conference opener.
I have a feeling we will see many faces on the field during different situations, at least for a couple more games.
