I went to the griz game (I didn't have to pay for my tix). Lex should have ran the ball every play, because Washington cannot throw. He completed a couple of long ones, just threw it up and let Talmage go get it. Short passed though were not good. Ft Lewis was way overmatched. I dnt think the skyhawks crossed midfield at all. The griz should have one by 100. First time that I can remember seeing the griz go 3 and out on their first possession.

At least the LB's and D-Back's sound improved. It is hard to gage the D-Line. Their names have not been called much.
Thats the way this d is supposed to be. LBs make the tackles, DL clogs

Very seldom you hear the names of the D line mentioned, unless they make a tackle or tip a ball.
FTG!!

I've heard Papich's name a few times.
He is going to make a name for himself before he leaves THE MSU!

All right coaches, let's make our halftime adjustments:
1)They are blitzing heavily! This gamble is opening up the possibility of draws and receivers open downfield. I say leave at least one back in to hit that first guy through and give Travis a little more time to find that open guy. Also, he could slip through for a pass if they don't come, take a draw also.
2)I hope it was more early game jitters with the missed catches. They seem to be doing a better job in the 2nd quarter.
3) O-line is playing pretty good. Look at ways to adjust blocking schemes to pick up those blitzes up the middle better.
4) D needs to stop those bigger running gains. Beings I can't watch the game, not sure if the linebackers are biting inside or are getting caught up on blocks or are missing a few tackles.
KEEP THE PRESSURE ON THEM. THEY ARE FRUSTRATED AND DOUBT WILL SETTLE IN QUICKLY IF WE COME OUT TOUGH IN THE SECOND HALF.

Surprising that only 18 total points scored when both teams run a No Huddle offense.

Just like the 1st half, we need to come out strong and weather the storm at the beginning of the 2nd half. The Cowboys are going to come out pissed off and fired up, the best thing we could do would be force them into a three-and-out.
If we can keep this thing close going into the 4th quarter, I think all the pressure will be on them, which will favor us.

chesty, good points.
They are going to try to wear us down by slamming the ball at us. We've got to stop them on 1st & 2nd downs and force them to throw.
Offensively, you're right; we've got to find a way to either make them pay for blitzing or give Big Red another=second or two...

I was listening to the game, washington and cole b were passing behind recievers all game long. in division one that will get you a lot of pics if not some very banged up recievers.

If the kids can keep their heads and the D doesn't get beat to death in the 3rd quarter, we could easily be in this thing come the 4th...
