Hot Rod's Ankle?

Post by GavinDonos » Tue Jan 18, 2011 12:21 pm

Whats up with Singleton's ankle, anyone know?

He was tearing it up and having a career game before he went down. Tough to see. Hopefully it's not one of them high ankle sprains that every hoopster dreads.

I too hope it's not too serious. He was having one helluva game until he went down.

Maybe his injury will spur us on to an 8 + game winning streak like the women's team!

Seriously, we need Singleton against the griz. He's the one guy we have that might be able to keep Will Cherry in front of him.

The latest tweet I saw is that he is day-to-day.

It's his left ankle and he's probable. My guess is unless he's a pure liability he'll go. Doesn't sound like a high sprain.

I know some of you guys were kinda hard on him early in the year, but he truly is our best option at PG. He has been cleaning is TOs up, and is a very pesky on-ball defender. He is also getting his layups under contror, I swear he got to the hoop so fast sometimes he would lay it up and momentum would just take it right off the backboard. He was playing great against EWU, lots of hustle.

Probably a good thing that we have the strange Saturday/Monday schedule this week instead of the usual Thursday/Saturday. Singleton has been very impressive lately and it would undoubtably be very difficult to win in Missoula without him. Trujeque looks promising as the PG of the future but isn't ready to be the man yet as a true freshman.

I was sitting right on the front row next to him when he came over to the bench. They put ice on it and I didn't see any swelling. It just depends. He could be ready to go full speed or it may still really be bothering him.

He played a heck of a game Sunday, so we sure need him against UM Sat.
