MSU 75
Weber 72.
Without Liliard, Weber sure put up a good fight. Good win.
The NAU game will be quite the battle Friday and be better gauge of if the Cats are just a mid pack team or something more.

Cats Win 75-72. Tough time handling the press at the end and gave Weber a chance to tie with a last second three that didn't go, Cody Anderson a great game... Howard a double double, Peipoli nice defensive game and Singleton had 10. Rush play well not sure what his stats were and Alou contributed some nice plays.

Got a little exciting at the end, there. A great win, none the less!
Way to open the conference slate on a very high note!

Nice win.
Now for something completely different:
It's going to be very difficult to win on the road in the Big Sky Conference!!

Re: MSU vs. WSU game thread
Good win! Huge win!
Losing Lilliard brings Weber back to the pack-probably the middle of the pack. They are certainly talented but they lack that little bit of umph.
The Bobcats played well-they stayed within the system on offense for the most part and took good shots. Eric Rush was especially controlled and did a great job down the stretch.
Cody Anderson had his best game as a Bobcat x 10. It was the big surprise of the night.
If somebody keeps track of airballs I'm sure our team is close to leading the nation-primarily from Howard, Reed, and Singleton. You can get away with that at home, but on the road that'll kill you. Reed's shot selection can be pretty bad at times, but then he goes and knocks down a huge three! Kind of like Howard that way. He's a nice player though-I think he'll be a good one.
It must be his defense, because Singleton has become an offensive liability at times. He can't buy a layup. A massive-unforced turnover close to the end, and some very bad missed free throws. That said-he was 7-10 from the line which is a huge improvement. I'd really like to see more Trujecue. He was very solid in the few minutes he got tonight.
Several times tonight we made two freethrows! IN A ROW! That was good too see. Singleton could have iced it, but went 1 for 2 with 9 secs. left. Luckily, Weber's three wasn't that close.
No Tre Johnson? Our best player against UCLA doesn't see the court tonight. Don't understand that. Maybe it was because Anderson and Allou were playing so well?
If this team had a 20 point lead with 2 minutes left I wouldn't feel safe. They can blow a lead in a hurry. That last minute or so was almost a train wreck-and it's not the first time that's happened.
All that aside-beating Weber is always a good thing, and it's been a pretty rare thing too. So great win Cats. Beat NAU on New Year's Eve!

Great game Cats - way to get the conference started! Looked like a pretty solid effort all the way around from our starting five. Cody was a monster last night! That's the way I have expected him to play the past two seasons. Maybe he's getting it now. Keep it up Cody - when you set you mind to it, there's not many big men in the conference that will be able to hang with you! Nice contributions off the bench from Reid and Allou. We play that way the rest of the season, we are going to be just fine!

Re: MSU vs. WSU game thread
if we can get double-diget scoring from 4 or more players every game this team will be very tough to stop. this is what i was talking about last week. we're just not talented enough to have 2 guys taking 40 plus shots a night and still think we're going to win games. it was a great team effort and a big win.
kudos to cody tonight. myself and others have been pretty hard at him and i think rightfully so. but he came to play last night and the team fed off his energy. might as well get the sweep friday night huh?
