Cats vs UCLA (Online streaming?)

Post by Potomac Griz » Tue Dec 21, 2010 2:56 pm

I was digging around a bit to try to find a way to watch the Cats vs UCLA tonight, and stumbled across a coupon code for Bruin TV. I have no idea how good the picture quality will be, or if it'll even show the game...but here is the coupon code:

FREEMONTH10

I started to subscribe on http://www.uclabruins.com/allaccess/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and applied the coupon code after entering the first bit of info. It changed my subscription from the normal monthly fee to "XXL Monthly. First month free, then only $14.95 per month", so the coupon code seems to be valid as far as I can tell.

Unfortunately you do have to enter your CC info....and I have no idea how hard it is to cancel after the free month, or if you can cancel just right after the Cats beat UCLA tonight :)

Anyway, use it at your own risk... I'll be giving it a shot tonight. I wish I had known about that when the Griz played UCLA...would've signed up then and got to watch both games for free.

I'm probably making a big mistake asking this, but has anyone been talking about how MSU happens to be playing UCLA on the same night the UCONN women are playing the game to break the UCLA 88 game win streak?

Cats got down real big real fast, but slowly chipped away at the lead, down 7 at half. Had the ball down just 5 with 10 secs, but Rush got stripped and then he fouled.

Tre Johnson with a sick slam in traffic! 10 points for the youngster.

well the good news is we're hanging in there at half and only down 7. the bad news is we still have to play the 2nd half.

seriously though, once the guys settled down a little they realized they can play with ucla. they give up size so ucla is getting a lot of offensive boards. tre is absolutely killing it so far. he's got ten points and his last shot was a monster dunk. the team needs to come out with the same energy as him in the second half.

still think we're throwing up too many 3's early in the shot clock and i'd like to see rush let the game come to him a little more. right now i don't see why we can't hang in there in the second half.

The whole team is playing like complete crap except Tre Johnson. That dunk was sweet. He's the only who's acting like a D-1 player instead of bunch of guys in awe of the other team's D-1 players. It's a good thing UCLA isn't playing that good or we'd be down by 20.

Singleton is a layup missing turnover machine.

Leave the freshmen in-at least they're trying.

Despite all that we're only down 7. Maybe Huse can light a fire at halftime. We haven't played a good second half on the road this season but there has to be first time for everything.

This looked like it was going to get ugly... Cats were down by 14, shooting around 25% while UCLA was around 69%. UCLA was killing the Cats on the boards too..

Thankfully UCLA has finally cooled off and the Cats are hitting some shots now. Rebounding is about even now. Cats are shooting 37.5% and UCLA is at 46.7%.

Tre Johnson..holy ******.. very impressive in his limited amount of minutes. He's got 10 points and 4 rebounds already. He had a real nasty dunk over a UCLA player.

36-29 at halftime now. That Nelson kid for UCLA is sure a whiner... I think he's whined about being fouled after every shot he's missed so far this game. Loved seeing him get stuffed, and then promptly whine some more to the refs.

There were a few very costly turnovers that turned into easy buckets for UCLA earlier. Rush, and Singleton are having really rough games shooting so far :( Rush is 0-3 but has 5 rebounds. Singleton is 0-5 with 3 turnovers.

UCLA looks very beatable.. Hope the Cats can come out in the 2nd half shooting a little better than they did earlier in the first half.

Hell of a start for the Cats this 2nd half! Up by 1 now 39-38. Even with that BS foul called on Howard (no idea how that was a shooting foul) they seem to have come out of halftime on fire so far.

They're running plays, working together, making the extra pass, and getting open looks-instead of a bunch of free lancing. Can it last???

I don't understand the "guy from the edge comes in and takes the hand-off several times in a row at the top of the 3 point" play we seem to run.

Oh come on...who doesn't like the weave when the shot clock is running down? :P That was a pretty bad possession :(

Glad to see Tre Johnson back in the game. His energy and hustle sure made a difference in the first half.

Cats really struggling, our typical score as little as possible in the last 8 minutes of the game routine.

Cats have been stuck on 46 points for about 8 minutes now... Now down 46-55... 6 fouls on the Cats so far this half, 1 on UCLA. This 12-0 run by UCLA is hurtin...

Rush hit a shot, so hopefully that'll jolt the Cats out of the shooting slump... 7 fouls now on the Cats now this half, and only 1 on UCLA :(
