Here he goes again.....
Coach Hauck say negitive things about the msu football qb.
"Probably the best quarterback in the league is either Travis (Lulay) down in Bozeman or Erik Meyer at Eastern (Washington)," Hauck said. "And both those guys can beat you with their feet as well as their arm, and that drives defenses nuts."

Since you are keeping score, how about elaborating on Hauck's "mean spirited negative comments" and post some of them.mslacat wrote:OK ok I am in charge of keeping track of theses thing, sorry I was busy! Hear we go a mark in the left column.

I hate to say it, but just because it isn't in the papers online doesn't mean that Hauck has never said any of the alleged comments towards the Cats, just as I'm sure Kramer has probably made some comments that have escaped the papers as well. Word of mouth is a huge factor in someones reputation, and several people have claimed to hear him say some derogatory comments towards the Cats.
For me, I don't like him not only because of the rumors, but even when I listen to him talk about anything. He just strikes a nerve with me, there are several celebrities that I don't like and have no real reason to. For example, I can't stand Matt Damon.
People can emanate dislike upon themselves. Whether he has publically bashed the Cats or not, isn't going to change my view on him.

I really like Matt Damon, especially after he said "State" doesn't deserve to have "Montana" attached to its name.CelticCat wrote:I hate to say it, but just because it isn't in the papers online doesn't mean that Hauck has never said any of the alleged comments towards the Cats, just as I'm sure Kramer has probably made some comments that have escaped the papers as well. Now do you want statements from this point on or from recent history (since he took the job) Or do you want me to go back and get the quotes from the past. In any case, make it worth my while. I tell you what. You find negative derogatory comment made by Kramer towards the Griz or Hauck. My challenge is that If I can not come up with more I will admit it here on this board and on Egriz the "Your head coach is classier than Kramer" Like wise if not you will post on both board that "Kramer is classier that your coach"SausageCrotch wrote:[

And by the way we are talking legitimate negative comments, not "I think this player is better that that player" or I thnk we can win against the Griz" comments. Legitimate cheap shots at the head coach or program only.

It would be nice if we actually had at very least some first-person accounts of people hearing him say the things attributed him, though. Absent those accounts coming out of the woodwork (and we have a pretty wide net here to catch them), I'm going to have to start writing off a couple of them as urban legends.CelticCat wrote:I hate to say it, but just because it isn't in the papers online doesn't mean that Hauck has never said any of the alleged comments towards the Cats, just as I'm sure Kramer has probably made some comments that have escaped the papers as well. Well, that's just plain stupid. Sorry, but it's the right word. Bay Area previously challenged 'Cat fans to come up with first-hand evidence of Coach Hauck saying anything negative about the 'Cats. And the result of that was a big fat zilch. Mslacat's "challenge" is nothing more than an admission that the 'Cats haven't been able to come up with any direct evidence against Hauck. And by the way, I was looking for "legitimate negative comments, not 'I think this player is better than that player' or 'I think we can win against the 'Cats" comments. Legitimate cheap shots at the head coach or program only." Griz fans simply haven't been scope-locked on Kramer the way the 'Cat fans have in their mindless hatred of Coach Hauck. So, Mslacat, go back to Bay Area Cat's original thread and come up with direct evidence against Hauck, the same way you've demanded it here. Then the Griz might respond, but not until then.mslacat wrote:Now do you want statements from this point on or from recent history (since he took the job) Or do you want me to go back and get the quotes from the past. It is not the first time I have been called stupid, but I will take this as I don't want to play.
Remember It was a Griz fan who started this line of thought and asked us to come up with the quotes. If he wants us to come up with the Quotes/comments then I would ask them to do the same. Truth though I can not remember one incident where Kramer has said any bad against A Griz program or Coach in the media. Having also talked to or listen to Kramer MANY times in private settings I can also tell you 95% of the time he is nothing but complimentary about the Griz. This was especially true when Glenn was around. I felt pretty comfortable that you would not be able to come up with a single example of Kramer talked bad about the Griz program. He just does not do it! In turn I felt all I would have to do is come up with a single comment from Hauck, to win. At worse I could not lose!
BTW Just becuase BAC could not find anything does not mean I could not!!

And before I start getting pelted with rotten eggs and accused of being a closet Griz sympathizer and forced into a re-education camp with a 12 pack and a list of our cheers (not that I would resist), I should stress where I am coming from.
I remember not so long ago when it was fashionable for Griz fans (and some bitter people in the Cat camp who presumably lost jobs and/or positions with the advent of the Kramer era) to endlessly criticize Kramer on message boards for things he supposedly said. Virtually always, they were taking things out of context or repeating quotes from other posts that came from other posts that came from other posts, so that (ala the grade school rumor game) by the time a person smacked about Kramer, they were repeating words that didn't even resemble anything that he even said.
I'm not saying that Hauck did or did not say any of the things we have heard. I just want to have some first-hand or published documentation that supports the assertion that he did say these things. Otherwise, I just fear that we risk falling into the same obnoxious traps that some Griz fans fell into in the past.
I guess I just prefer my smack have some factual support, that's all.
If somebody can come up with more support for any of Hauck's greatest hits ("State", don't shop in Bozeman, etc.), I'd be a more than willing consumer.

Well there are several examples posted in that other thread, and I'll add one that I know of if people still honestly don't believe that Bobby has shown a lack of class on numerous occasions -
Post game TV interview where Bobby comes on and discusses the game, usually with a couple players, after the Cat\Griz game of 03. Don't remember which station but I think the program is called the Bobby Hauck Show. I'm not going to take the time to dig up the transcripts but trust me, this is what he said, and I'm sure they're there if anyone wants to look.
After watching a play where Justin Green gained some good yardage and was tackled by Kane Ioane, Bobby's comment was, "And here you'll see Justin Green picking up some nice yardage, and he's heading towards 'their guy' (again - like he doesn't know the name KANE IOANE???) and I'll tell you what - I've heard a lot of bragging about this guy but it looks to me like he's getting his rear-end knocked over by Justin". Not terribly demeaning, but pretty lame.

Assuming this is how things were phrased, I have a couple points, and then a question:catatac wrote:After watching a play where Justin Green gained some good yardage and was tackled by Kane Ioane, Bobby's comment was, "And here you'll see Justin Green picking up some nice yardage, and he's heading towards 'their guy' (again - like he doesn't know the name KANE IOANE???) and I'll tell you what - I've heard a lot of bragging about this guy but it looks to me like he's getting his rear-end knocked over by Justin". 1. Saying "their guy" instead of calling the player by name is not obnoxious. He was on TV, and they probably didn't do ten dress rehearsals before the show, so I wouldn't read too much into that.
2. As for his commentary on the play, it sounds to me more like he was praising Green for the run, not trashing Ioane. Nothing obnoxious about that.
3. Incidentally, *did* Ioane get knocked backward by Green on the play? If so, it makes his comments (praising Green for the run) all the more appropriate.
I'm sorry; I'm not a huge Hauck supporter myself, but it does seem to me like you're reaching for something to be offended by here.

The only thing lame here is you trying to spin this as negative towards the cats.catatac wrote:Well there are several examples posted in that other thread, and I'll add one that I know of if people still honestly don't believe that Bobby has shown a lack of class on numerous occasions -![]()

Nevermind - you guys obviously don't see the point we're trying to make. To answer your question Law - yes, Kane did get knocked backwards by Greene, (but he got the tackle, though!
. Not the point. It's the overall attitude that Hauck carries, at least in my opinion - and several others'. Can you honestly ever picture Kramer saying something like, "Well, I've heard a lot of bragging about how good this Grizzly running back is, can't remember his name right now, but my man Mac Mollohan just picked him up and dumped him on his can in the backfield! Not sure what all the hype is about.". Just a difference in how they carry themselves. Kramer would never knock an opposing player... he'd be more likely to knock one of ours! Just a difference in how they carry themselves. You guys are obviously OK with Hauck and how he acts, and we're fine with Kramer.
