if you're keeping score, France gave us Burgundy wine, cigarettes, berets, B.O., brie and the Napoleon complex-Bill Simmons

that is too bad for Casey although probably a wise decision in the long run. He was a free agent and was interested in seeing if he had a shot at getting signed somewhere else. Too bad he played for the Lions his entire career. #-o

Heard about this a couple of weeks ago. Casey lives up by my folks and my mother ran into him at the store there and he told her he was hanging it up. Good guy and a good neighbor as well.

Does he still have his house west of Montana City? I read somewhere he bought a small ranch in eastern Montana also?

He bought a place about 25 miles NW of Helena.

I'll admit it...I am a big Lions fan and have followed Casey since he first tried out for the Lions. He was a big fan favorite, probably because he came from a small school like Carroll and excelled in the NFL, although it was with the Lions. I'll never forget going to a Lions game in Denver his rookie season and when he came out on the field we yelled out his name. He looked back like who the heck would be calling out my name in Denver...I am just a rookie. He played a variety of positions, fullback, tight end and special teams and he did all of the well. He was a versatile player. I feel bad that he has concussion issues but health come first in the long run. I tried to find some decent video clips online but couldn't. I wish him and his family all the best. Thanks for the kid from Montana memories.

He's a good guy, hooked me and my son up with tickets when Detroit played in Great Bay in 2006. Was pretty cool of him.

That's too bad. Casey is one of the best football stories to come out of Montana.

I got to interview him once at a CC banquet and he's a real down to earth guy. Typical Montanan. Very polite and considerate.

people really took to him here in detroit, he seemed to be a really class guy. its a shame that injuries cut his career short (and that he had to play for the lions).
