I would also like to step up for my helping of crow. Things were starting to slide and I thought of he past couple of regular seasons and the collapses we saw at the end of the year and overreacted. Its true that this team plays hard every night whether or not the shots are falling. I talked to Navarre after the SDSU game and you could tell that the loss stung but they gave it there all. I'm also coming around on a more balance scoring team. I always thought for a team to be elite, they needed an elite player to take over games in tight situations. I don't think we have that go to guy on this team but they play together very well and you can tell they have bought into the team mentality. Here's to a hell of a playoff game against PSU!

I would like to start off by thanking the Griz. They are the one team that always brings out what is right or wrong with our team or coach whether it is football or basketball.

I have always assumed that the Griz players were a lot more talented than MSU players and that we just happened to out hustle them the last three games. For all the hype of having a 7 footer in Selvig, Qvale, or the shooting of a Staudacher, I would rather have a Piepoli, or Rush who can create his shot whenever he wants, or the hustle of Branden Johnson who can consistently shoot the three.

The biggest difference to me between a good coach and bad coach is that a good coach can put his players into a position to maximize their role/ability on the team and get the team to play together. Coach Huse does that. He figures out fairly early what rotations works and how often to substitute. Redshirting Rush and Piepoli during their sophomore years to balance out the class and let them develop was the correct call.

The way the Cats played just made the Griz look stupid to me. I saw one team that was hustling and knew what they were doing and the other team was looking around for Anthony Johnson to save them (which he almost did) but they were doing anything themselves

Long term, recruiting may doom Huse, but at least he knows what to do with the kids and how to develop them once they get here.

I'll give Huse credit as well. He had a gameplan, much like the last Cat/Griz, and we executed good enough to win, especially defenisvely. When I had started this thread, we had lost 5 of our last 7, but since then have rattled off 3 straight conference wins. Good job Huse, and the players! Secured the #3 seed, first winning record in Huse's tenure here if I heard correctly.

=D^

I've been enjoying it for breakfast, lunch and dinner, ever since Saturday night. It seemed that we were headed for yet another late season collapse, but Huse obviously righted the ship, and got the team to finish strong. I will say that his teams seem to have the very admirable characteristic of not cashing in their chips when things start to go bad. Last year they had the great tourney run, after losing their last 5 games in the regular season. This year, after dropping 4 out of 5 in conference, they regrouped to win the last 3. I just hope they keep it up in the tourney, because it would be very disappointing to lose in the first round after finishing the regular season so strong. We should beat PSU at home, but you know the old adage about it being difficult to beat a team three times, and PSU is no "gimme" by any means.

I agree 100%...it think it is CRUCIAL for us to pack the fieldhouse on saturday and make it an intimidating place to play, Huse and his players deserve that at the very least!
