Great win Bobcats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TV in the 2nd half was a major fail so I went with BSTV. The asshole Cat fan who caused the technical should be pummeled and left in the snow for the night (sorta kidding, that kind of behavior is bullsh!t).

Anyways, Poooooooooooooooooooooooooooooor Griiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiizlies!!!

I have to give Coach Huse and his players a lot of credit on how they play. They play with mental toughness and are very disciplined in their offense. Obviously we have some areas where we are a little weak, but the team is fun to watch.

I think that Erik Rush should be an all conference selection this year.

Great win.

Saw the first half when MSU got up 14 then UM cut it to 7, but missed the second half. Did UM ever take the lead? How did the second half play out?

MSU got up 12 in the second half. With a 10 point lead, MSU committed a foul on UM and also got a technical for some idiot throwing a mini plastic ball on the court. UM hit all 4 FTs and then went on a run to get within 1 at 51-50. BJ hit a deep 3 on the next possession to put us back up 4, then A. Johnson missed the front end of a 1 & 1 on the next possession with around 2 minutes left. MSU held on from there.

Thank you God.

Finally a team comes into the Fieldhouse and doesn't shoot the lights out! In fact the griz shot very poorly. Some of that had to do with the Cat defense, but the griz were flat. A Johnson was short on the front end of a couple of 1-1's which really surprised me.

Brandon Johnson's three-when we were only up one-really popped their bubble. I don't think our team knew coming out of time out that we only had 20 on the shot clock. Huse has made that mistake a couple of times this season-one of the assistant coaches needs to wake up. Johnson was way deep and launched it-thank goodness it went in.

Our offense was really good when we slashed through them-if our inside finishing was better early in the game we would been way way ahead early on (instead of just 14).

Okay-who was the genius who decided it would be a good idea to throw balls to the fans. When the cheerleaders were doing it I said to my Dad-this could be trouble. Sure enough-some incredibly stupid individual threw one at Qvale as was shooting a freethrow and we got a techincal. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid.

So we're sitting second place in the league with 5 of the last 8 on the road. Not bad. Now lets avoid the infamous late season Bobcat swoon.

Good win Cats. Pooooor grizzlies. =D^ =D^ =D^

Great win by the men tonight! Gritty performance to hang on to the lead; big sigh of relief when Bobby Howard came back in after what appeared to be a twisted ankle. An even bigger result is we extend our lead in the conference to 2 games over the Griz and stay right in the battle for the conference title. On a side note: I was really embarrassed as a Cat fan when some tool threw a ball on to court right when Qvale was shooting his free throw. That stupid move damn near could have lost the game for us. Qvale makes both his FTs, then the two technical shots are made, and what was a 10 point lead is cut immediately to 6. On the next possession, we lose the ball and the Griz come back and score a hoop and cut the lead to 4. I swear I damn near threw the TV out the window. I hope they found that ass wipe and escorted him out of the building.

From MSU:
Montana State out-rebounded Montana 32-to-29, only the second game in the last 12 MSU has finished positive in rebound margin… MSU held Anthony Johnson to eight points, the second-fewest UM’s sensational senior guard against Division I competition this season… After turning the ball over 31 times in two games last weekend, the Bobcats had only eight turnovers against Montana.

Something tells me this is the last time we will see the mini-basketballs thrown out during a game. Hopefully. Let's just hang on to them and then throw them out to the kids after the game has ended! Oh well, at least it gives the holier-than-thou segment of the Griz fan base some more ammunition to use for the foreseeable future.

I was really surprised that the Griz seemed to completely go away from Qvale & the post except for towards the end of each half.

I thought the same thing. He was never in foul trouble. Maybe-beings he's such a big guy getting up and down the court wears him down. The large amount of bench time sure did keep him fresh at the end of both halves. Perhaps if one of the many griz fans who frequent this board happens to know anything about griz basketball they could tell us what's up with that. They seem conspicuously absent at the moment though.

I really thought this was a key to the game. We are generally terrible on the boards but from the first possesion when we got about 5 offensive boards and couldnt put them in that the effort was going to be there tonight. The Griz never really looked into it. They should dominate inside but didn't. When we need baskets get the ball to Johnson. That guy is clutch.

That was a great effort for the Bobcats tonight! It was a great balanced effort (it was hard to tell with the scoreboard going down), and the team seemed to play really well together. They attacked the inside and held the Grizzlies' bigs in check. They seemed to make a run when Qvale and Selvig were in the game at the same time. However, the Cats were able to grab rebounds, and put the basket in the hoop underneath. Other people have summarized this game better than I have, so I'll let them do that.

I do want to address the ball-throwing incident. I don't remember the specific call by the officials that triggered the throw, but it wasn't exceptionally controversial. I thought the officials did a very good job tonight. However, the idiots who decided that it was necessary to throw balls on to the court should not only have been ejected, but strung up. If those stupid @$$holes lost the game for the Bobcats, I think I would have led the lynch mob. Coach Huse had an excellent reaction by grabbing the microphone and telling the crowd not to throw balls, as it would hurt the team and cost a technical foul. Huse also had a good deal to say to that section of the crowd after the game. There is absolutely no excuse for doing that, even if the people were probably inebriated students at a rivalry game. A fan should never do anything to hurt their team, and I hope those "fans" get their just desserts.

Despite one note of stupidity, I'm still smiling tonight. :D Cats win!

Who was the marketing genius that decided to throw out mini-basketballs at a rivalary game? That is really who should be strung up and left in the snow bank!

I mean seriously not one person involved invisioned a ball being thrown back on the floor. At football games snow balls are thrown right and left and the students have to make the balls out of the snow.

The other thing I would like to point out is because it was our court we get the technical regardless of who throws the ball, what is to stop Griz fans from throwing balls out to continue getting T's.

I also applaud Coach Huse for getting on the mic and making that place go silent. Seriously, it was almost as quiet as it was going into the anthem. It was stupid, embarrassing and could have been a major factor. I had a different perspective as far as Huse having a "great deal to say to that section." It looked to me and others around us he was applauding and smiling at the football players (and recruits) who were sitting in the first few rows and were making A LOT of noise at the end of the game. Saw players like McGee, Palmer, Robison, Laidet, Andrews, and many more that were in the first about six rows and were getting into it a lot. I think he was actually appreciating those guys rather than chastising. I was sitting in about row 5 in section 110 so had a view of it as Brad and the players came off the court. Before anyone says it, the ball came from the top of that section from students who had filled in late in the game. That's what I saw, but maybe I'm off base.

Good win by the Cats. It was a cold shooting and sometimes sloppy game out of both teams, but a win is a win. Was very impressed with Bobby Howard tonight and shaking off the rolled ankle. Onto NAU and UNC next weekend.
