Cats vs. USF

Post by longhorn_22 » Wed Nov 25, 2009 9:48 pm

Bobcats up 38-32 at the half. Great play at the end of the half to Cody Anderson for a layup with 2 seconds left. Sounds like they are coming together pretty well. Keep it up in the second half!

Cats win! Cats win! Cats win!

USF missed some free throws towards the end. Eric Rush hit two free throws with 13 secs left to put us up by four and ice it.

Nice road win over a WCC team. Not too shabby.

All right! Bynum and Navarre were back for this game, correct? Road win over a WCC team is a good sign - NAU is beating Santa Clara handily on the road tonight as well.

The Big Sky is quietly having a pretty good non-conference season. Even Sac State is getting into the act-knocking off Oregon State. We have some nice wins over the WCC, including tonight's games, which is nice beings I think that league kind of looks down their nose at the Big Sky.

Yeah I would not be surprised if UNC won the conference. They are looking like a quality team right now. We better get ready for them!

Just checked out the stats from the san fran game. We got destroyed on the boards! Do we have NO size this year????

We have plenty of size...Cody Anderson is huge-but he gets killed by mobile big guys-he picks up fouls faster than points or rebounds. Our 7 footer Swita doesn't look like he'll ever get off the bench. Brandon Johnson and Bobby Howard are our "big" guys in the game most of the time. Howard is not a leaper and Johnson-who I think does pretty well-isn't a physical inside presence either.

Austin Brown is a bit undersized to play inside, but his leaping ability makes up for it. His minutes were limited against USF with the return of Bynum and Navarre.

Defensive rebounding is probably going to be a problem all season.
