that's all fine and great but one was a dog, and the other was a human. i like animals as much as the next guy, and i think what vick did was disgusting, but there is a difference between animals and humans whether some of you want to see itb or not.LTown Cat wrote:The best explanation for the difference between these two crimes was one I heard on ESPN radio. I believe it was Eric K. He said that Michael Vick woke up each morning knowing that he had/would commit a felony....Stallworth certainly did not wake up that morning planning on killing a person by driving drunk that night. That is a huge difference--Vick planned it, Stallworth did not.Hammer wrote:I don't see where his "crime" was all that horrible. He did two years for killing some dogs. Stallworth will do no jail time for killing a person. Leonard Little Killed someone and he's back in tthe NFL. He should be welcomed back into the NFL without a suspension IMO
Where will he play?

Depends on your point of view. Obviously you don't see dogs as an equal to humans as some of us do. If it was up to me he would have never got out of prison!

Re: Where will he play?
i mentioned this above but here's my perspective. i have lost countless pets over the years. dogs, cats, birds, fish, etc. in the summer of '94 i lost my older brother in a logging accident. you wanna make any guesses which loss hurts me more, and the one i think about daily? like i said, what he did was awful, and i'm not trying to make excuses, but to compare humans and animals is a little backwards to me.gtapp wrote:Hammer wrote:I don't see where his "crime" was all that horrible. In a lot of countries they eat dogs. Like In Walkerville. Alpha can tell you about it. His family tree has its roots in Walkerville

Another relevant point, although almost never mentioned by the media due to the DUI "witchhunt" mentality, is that the guy literally stepped out right in front of Stallworth as he was driving down the street. He could not have avoided hitting him if he hadn't had a drink for a year. I would think that circumstance played some part in Stallworth being punished less severely than some people thought he should have been. Even MADD was satisfied with his plea deal, and they are pretty militant regarding this issue. I'm not condoning Stallworth's behavior, but I do believe that some of the outrage would be mitigated if people knew all the facts.Hammer wrote:LTown Cat wrote:The best explanation for the difference between these two crimes was one I heard on ESPN radio. I'm sure since he didn't plan on doing it, that makes the victim's family feel a lot better.
