Close, but just a little further back.

The annual alumni party is in the planning process. Lets see how many alums we can get this year. Contact Kerry Hanson at the alumni office.

I would like to start an annual Bobcat party in August. I have been hesitant because of the poor turnout we get each year for the alumni events. I know they get as many as 100 for the yearly party in Missoula. You would think (with over 2000 alums) we could at least match that number.

is there any place in the cities that carries Bobcat football games, or at least Cat/griz?

I believe once the football season gets closer there will be a link on the MSU website for Satellite Games. Last year there was a place down in Apple Valley or a Southern suburb that you could get together for games (or at least Cat/Griz games).

Anyone else have a little better insight?

I used to get alums together at the Mall of America (America's Sports Bar). Any game that has satellite coordinates they can pick up. Since I am traveling to most of the Cat games now I did not coordinate any games last year. I will keep this site posted this fall as to what games are televised. The Cat/griz game is televised at Gabe's every year. Jim Ellingson is in charge of that.

Gabby's Sports Bar...In MPLS

From I -94 (coming from MT)

Use the Broadway exit to go east. Cross the Mississippi river, take the 1st
left after the bridge and then go north for about 3/4 of a mile. Gabby's
will be on your left.

You can park where ever you can find a space, but you enter the bar/restaurant from the back.

This is a GREAT atmosphere! CAT fans galore :) and Griz fans too :(

My advice to you though, is to get to the bar EARLY. The place was PACKED last year! Seriously!! No jokes!

I think they accept donations at the door to watch the game. Not sure how much it was last year, but I think it was like 5.00/person or something!

If you need contact info for MPLS satellite party, I think I can help. Send me a private message!

We watched Cat/Griz at Gabby's a couple of times when we lived in Iowa. Kind of out of the way place, but fairly easy to find. And they had good food and drinks. But it was always full, we were usually there by noon to get a good seat!
