Bobcat land a JC Power Forward

Post by mslacat » Mon Mar 31, 2008 3:30 pm

Cameron Henderson a 6-7 235lb power forward has committed to the Cats. Henderson is classic low post who also runs the floor very well and is very athletic. He is not going to shoot any further away from the basket than 12 feet. This should give us another physical presence to go with Mbunga. Juco Junction had him ranked in the top 150 JC player coming in to the season. I hear Henderson played most of the season with a nagging injuries, that slowed him down, some but a friend I know in Oklahoma who used to coach the in the JC ranks says: (paraphrasing)

Henderson is a real talent who has the potential to be a real good Big Sky player. He needs to heal up and get back to he freshman year conditioning and the sky is the limit.

He was offered by: Cal State Fullerton, Louisiana-Monroe, and Cal State Riverside.

Sophomore stats: 11 pts, 6 rbs, 2.8 assits, 46% fg, and 60% ft

Dude has huge arms. Pythons as Hulkster would say. I don't see a big dropoff between his frosh-soph years. Sounds and looks like a Kenny Plummer type.

Two years to play.

I beleive his injury was an (high?) ankle sprain.

5 players On Connors State this year averaged between 13 (highest on the team) and 10 points. 5 players also averaged between 6-5 rebounds, Henderson was the leading rebounder and #2 in scoring.

He was an iron man, and started every game from a freshman thru sophomore.

Good to see this official. I'm really excited to see him go alongside Mbunga.

First offThis is an OLD thread...

Regarding the Andy Garland thread, it appears we decided to offer henderson instead of Andy.

Looking at this info, Henderson looked to be a solid pickup...not sure what why he never became an impact player.

Sorry...this old thread must have been posted before we added a bball forum.

Obviously this has nothing to do with football.

You are right. We went back a ways to move some of the basketball stuff to the proper thread and some of the other sports to their proper thread, but there was just no great way without us mods spending way too much time with this activity. If you find an old thread that you want to dig up, please do and we'll then move them to the right spot.
