Besides obviously App State....
I would think the biggest victor is Colorado....they're not "joke" that they were after they lost to us.

I believe that a lot of the posters here actually are not that surprised of the outcome. I know that not many folks were bold enough to actually predict it but I think there were a lot of FCS maniacs out there that were waiting for this game with sugar plums dancing in their head.
I actually thought and still believe that in 1984 the Bobcats would have given BYU a run for their money that year.
I just hope the A&M game comes out the same way now.

I would have rather beat the 85 team that supposedly won the national championship and hope we get boysee state in BozoWeltercat wrote:I believe that a lot of the posters here actually are not that surprised of the outcome. I am not that surprised, I have always stated that the gap between 1A and 1AA (FCS) is not that great. The reason 1AA teams lose IMO is mental. Everyone including their fans are preconditioned to lose. If you truly go into the game thinking you can win, the top 25 in 1AA can compete with almost anyone every year.Weltercat wrote:I believe that a lot of the posters here actually are not that surprised of the outcome. After Appy's first score, I thought it was a break away play and there probably wouldn't be any more the rest of the game.Weltercat wrote:I believe that a lot of the posters here actually are not that surprised of the outcome. When they tied it at 14 apiece, I thought "Damn, these guys are going to give Michigan a game til the end."

As I posted earlier in the week, I thought the ASU and Michigan game was going to be a great game and I wanted to see it. It turned out to be even better then I expected with ASU taking the win. I know ASU is the best team in FCS, and maybe they are a top 5 team in all football on a given Saturday. Even though, I do not think any FCS team can with stand a full season in BSD. They just do not have the depth. As long as ASU has their qb,wr, rb combination in place, they are going to be tough to beat.
USC looked very good on tv last night.

Valid points; we've got all the kids who were offered by BCS teams. Being 22 short of the 1A is the only clear, discernable difference. I mean, we've still got what, five kids playing on Sunday? There's been some real talent in Bozo over the last ten years.AlphaGriz1 wrote:I am not that surprised, I have always stated that the gap between 1A and 1AA (FCS) is not that great. Can't believe I've just agreed with a fizzled-out-again fan.

Having seen just about every team in the SoCon the past 3 years (with the exception of the horror that is Elon), that's crazy talk. I'd actually rank App near the top of all DI in regards to team speed. Furman & Wofford = nope. GSU = closer, but still not in the ballpark. Citadel & WCU = right.Cat Grad wrote:How many remember what happened to us last year? It's reputed (from reliable sources) that Ape is not the fastest team in the SoCon this year.

Hart impresses me, not only is he a great running back but he's always in a suit and tie after a game (not sure, is that a Michigan rule?) and he's always smiling and giving the other team credit, regardless a win or loss.Cat Grad wrote:"I wouldn't call it embarrassing because that takes away from them," Hart said. "We're disappointed. I can tell you that.
"It is one of the biggest losses ever, but give all the credit to Appalachian State."
Talk about class! I hope he get the Heisman.
That TD run he had against Appy was crazy, the long 60 yard one. If Michigan went on to beat Appy they'd be touting that as one of the best runs of the season, instead it's a side note in the one of the biggest upsets ever.
