NDSU and Billy Packer

During the Kentucky Louisville game (which Kentucky won) Billy "fudge" Packer kept talking about NDSU getting into the NCAA b-ball tournament as an independent.

I really hate Packer, and all his bloveiating so I hope I'm correct in saying this: NDSU is NOT an independant and are NOT elligable for post-season play.

Am I wrong???

Man I can't stand listening to Packer.

I believe you are half right. They are still an independent (I believe they join the mid-con next year right?) but they are not eligible for postseason play (2008-2009 season I believe).

NDSU can make the NIT now but still has to wait another season for the Big Dance. 2008-2009 can't come soon enough for Bison fans, the only good news is that our basketball coach built the team for that year so hopefully it will be worth waiting so long for.

Packer still must be getting crap about his criticism about his comments after the teams were choosen for this years NCAA tourney. I remember watching how they were going off on all the mid-major teams that got in...especially out of the Missouri Valley, so know he's kissing butt to the mid-majors

.......and now after NDSU loosing to Colorado State by 2, our chances of a sniff of the NIT would be about zero. Despite that I am going to Ames and watching NDSU take on Iowa State on New Years Eve. Hopefully we can ring in the new year after a Bison win!
