I do want to take exception to some of the "character talk" here. Fans do talk smack and that's to be expected. I really think that the smack-talk was a two-way street. If you dish it out, you have to be able to take it in return. You folks did dish some out; and really, none more than your head coach.
I read his quotations all week and saw several videos of his boastful talk about Big Sky mojo, flex this and flex that. It was his way of playing mind games--and I thought it was out of line; but that's just me. Then, after ASU's three 2nd Qtr turnovers today--he pretty much made fun of our frosh QB in his half-time comments. That's also, IMHO, out of line. You folks will never see or hear of Jerry Moore doing any such junk.
You folks also had some things to say about penalties. There was a lot of trash-talking going on the entire game in both uniforms. There was a lot of pushing and shoving--both ways. There were several calls against ASU that hurt; one for excessive celebration, one for questioning an official's call too long; and one case of retaliation caught in the act. It all started early in the game, however, with a no-call face-punch thrown by your #5 Marcosus LeBlanc. He never let up his junk; was called out for his actions twice by the ESPN crew; and finally drew an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty himself.
My point is that there are two sides to every story. MSU's not exactly a team of little innocent lambs here. *Soapbox speech now concluded!*

This game was played by two groups of proud young men--both of whom wanted to win very badly. We happened to win this one; but you made us very uneasy. Be proud of your team. I hope your kids, coaches and fans have a safe trip home; and I wish all MSU fans a wonderful Christmas.
