Last minute BZN to Charlotte fares
I just got this from a friend who is flying from BZN to NC for the game:
I just booked on http://us.lastminute.com/ from Bozeman to Charlotte (going on Friday, leaving Sunday) with a car for $526.23/person… there are options to fly into Greensboro too, but slightly more, but not much more! A pretty good deal, I’d say!!!
Since the charter fell through, this might be a good option for those wanting to make the trip.

Must have been a lot of takers because now friday is sold out. Leave on thursday though and flight and car are $462 a person.
Let me explain something to you. Um, I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.

Great to see some of you going to make it to Boone. It sounds like most of you are flying into Charlotte (where I live). Its an easy 2 hour drive as we do it every game. There is a lot do in Boone. Many of the hotels/motels are full but there is always places to stay (B & B, rental homes, etc). If you want more info let me know or you can go to the Mountaineer Message Board for some suggestions. Its friendly and most people are willing to help.
We tailgate in Raley lot and have 4-5 big tents in the middle. Come by if you like as we will get started about 9am.
You can also find more info at www.goasu.com. Hope you enjoy the weekend and it will a great game!

To go from Charlotte to Boone, would you recommend I-77 to US-421 or would you go up US-321 through Gastonia and Lincolnton?APPSWIN wrote:Great to see some of you going to make it to Boone. You can go either way. We go I77 North to 421. It takes you directly into Boone and its easy to find the stadium from there. Tailgating is good in many lots (we go to Raley Lot) and you can find most info at www.goasu.com. Hope you have safe travels.

Personally, we go 85 to 321 and up through Lincolnton. Time-wise, I think it's about a wash. Most of the time-drag of the journey is when you get stuck behind someone driving 30 mph up the hill. Two-lane road and damn near impossible to pass. Just like some of the roads back home...SanDiego wrote:To go from Charlotte to Boone, would you recommend I-77 to US-421 or would you go up US-321 through Gastonia and Lincolnton?APPSWIN wrote:Great to see some of you going to make it to Boone. Well, it was finally time to become a participant rather than watch BN from the sidelines. I just hit Boone (beautiful town and campus!). I was lucky enough to have a prior business trip to Charlotte and decided to extend my stay after last weekend's results. I will be at the Greenwood lot tomorrow. Before the sun went down here, I walked around the campus and stadium. The people were friendly and already decked in their ASU garb. It's a beautiful setting, and it looks like this town revolves around the University.Cat in NC wrote:Guess I'm not quite done, after all. Quick poll: Who all is planning on being at the alumni tailgate in the Greenwood lot?
