Anybody read the sports articles in the Exponent every week? I barely ever get up to campus so can't say I ever really read it but did pick one up today and am not too impressed with the Cat-Griz article from last week. You would think we could read a few positive things about the season - maybe 6 straight conference wins with their backs to wall and a road game that went down to the wire against the #2 team in the country. I agree, it is amazing that the Cats got to the playoffs after September, but the team we saw the last 7 games of the season was deserving.
This was my favorite line in the article: "It doesn't snow much in South Carolina, so maybe the weather - unlike our fans - will give the 'Cats a real home-field advantage."
Maybe I'm expecting too much from them, who knows. It'll be interesting to see what is said this week.

The Cat/Griz article could have been written a little better. But I do have to give the Exponent props for putting a solo picture of myself (My BN profile pic) on the entire front page of the paper dedicted to the brawl of the wild that came out thursday before the game.

When I was in school my roommate always referred to it as the excrement. I see it still holds true.

Actually they put out an edition called the excrement, with fake articles and such.
What's the difference between you and a mallard with a cold? One's a sick duck. I can't remember how it ends but your mother's a whore.

Its written by a bunch of kids who only know how to right with the shock factor. Also they don't have to worry about pissing anyone off because there paper is subsidized, they don't have to worry about advertising near as much as a REAL PAPER. (did you see caps, that means I am emphasizing it) Not that I am totally in love with the Chronicle. In my opinion the best paper in the state is the Great Falls Tribune. They have the best articles on both teams.

Just because a newspaper is not on it's knees for the Bobcats on a daily basis does not mean it isn't a good newspaper.

Nobody needs to be on there knees, but when a publication is subsidized and spends more time complaining about the university they represent than pointing out all the great things they do, those writers are going to be in for a big shock when they enter the real world.
This is slipping outside Bobcat Athletics so this is my last word on this.
I log on to build up the cats not tear down the U. I Kinda feel like a hippocrate right now.
