Thank You Selection Committee

Post by CARDIAC_CATS » Sun Nov 19, 2006 12:51 pm

Thanks to the selection committee! I'm glad you were able to take into account MSU's play at the end of the year versus the beginning. A lot of times it takes times for teams to Gel and MSU finally got it together and PULLED through 6 straight games (3 of them on the road) to get to play in the championship against the GRIZ. It was a hard fought game and you could tell it could have gone either way.

Anyway, thanks for looking at how well they finished this year and the heart these kids/coaches showed. I think you should be rewarded for that and you did. Thanks SO MUCH!

I honestly can't remember if the Cats played a home playoff game before. I know in 1984 they went on the road for their championship. Have the Cats ever had a playoff game at home??

Are you sure? I thought they were on the road the whole time.

I'm sure...the semifinal against Rhode Island was definitely in Bozeman. I can still picture a MSU player picking off URI late and returning it for a TD.

yep, you're right. I was wrong. (first time though  )

So, is this this first home game since 84? Bozeman has got to be going nuts!!

This is beyond awesome. Not only are you in, not only do you have a home game, but you have a team from the deep south. I hope the weather in Bozeman is as bad as it was the Saturday after Thanksgiving last year.

Some people believe are season depends on one game every year. Not so for this fan. I felt the same way last year at this time as I did just a few hours ago. The streak was over 4 years ago. We've won a couple since. That is fine with me. The grizzlies and Bobcats will continue to battle each other with W's going to both teams. We got a taste of the playoffs back in '02 and for me that is what it as been about ever since. Getting back! Because of what happens early in the season, our playoff hopes rely on beating the grizzlies. I don't care who we play at the end of the season, if we have to win to get to the playoffs, I will have the same passion for the Bobcats to win. Beating the grizzlies is only frosting and that started last year. Last year all we ate was frosting. This year we only get cake. I'll take cake with a possible second chance at the grizzlies anyday.

Can you see the entire state of Montana at the chipper?

Did Mississippi Valley State come to Bozeman in 76? I don't remember?

as a furman fan, we knew we were IN; i had heard from many sources we THOUGHT we would host a game. SO to not be at home is bad, but to be coming to COLD country where it will be less than 60 degrees (lol) will be bad for us; as a fan we are used to seeing the game in person OR at the last resort TV. so since i have to work this friday, i will have to listen to it on the radio, and that is my biggest disappointment. i figure our chance of beating you on your home field in the COLD is 1 in 10, but i guess we will show up. matt daughtery and the other experts are picking you guys to win ( no surprise as we are literally limping into the playoffs with our qb-gray and fb felton being slowed down with recurring ankle injuries). the ONLY part of this scenario i like is getting to learn more about a big sky team. but i know you all are good.

what a pleasant surprise for you all...to get IN after a loss to your rival and then to get a HOME game. wow!

This selection to the playoffs has got to be a miracle. I couldn't believe the news. You have to go back to some games like the int returned for a TD and other wins to make me think this is divine intervention.......

Right, but I don't think Jerry Rice played for Arkansas State.

I had an odd feeling the Cats would make it. I'm glad for them as well. they deserve it. I think they can really shake things up.

You can also thank Fullerton. Not just the selection committee.

Unfortunately for Portland State, who only had quality losses, the message sent from the Big Sky Conference is loud and clear.

Portland State had a 1-A win (just like MSU). And, suffered no bad losses (unlike MSU).

This is the biggest gift in the history of I-AA to host at 7-4.

YOU KNOW IT. ADMIT IT. PLAY THE GAME AND SEE WHAT YOU DO.

GO DOUG GO DOUG GO DOUG GO.

Home game, so is the team going to stay in Livingston again?

I surmise that your AD put in a materially larger bid (I am guessing $30,000 more to convince the committee) than Furman and your home game is due to his bidding skills.

Good luck Bobcats. Furman is a really good program.

I almost forgot Airhead_Griz, what is a quality loss?
