Here's an idea for Bison fans.

Take your $100k.
Call UND to fill your open date and offer them $50K.
The Fabulous Fargo Dome sells out, you make a pile of money, and get your ass kicked.
Then everyone's happy......or are you "afraid".

Haha, I must admit, pretty good jab there tailbone...

However, somehow I don't think UND would have a chance...

This NDSU team is 9-1 and absolutly nuked a very stout Cal Poly D - you know, the one that only allowed the almighty Griz 10 points? :P

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

How about we pocket the 100k and just play you guys in Missoula in the front end of a home and home(250k buyout). That way you get a home game and can make a pile of money and we'll get to see if Montana has the guts to play NDSU away after losing for the 4th straight time. Or are you afraid?

The sooner you understand the realities of life in I-AA, the better off you'll be.
YOU ARE NEWBIES, you still have dues to pay.
Every team has to manage their schedule to acheive three thing: money, strength of schedule, play-off opportunities (wins).
Teams in large conferences play 7-8 conference games, alternating venues in alternate years; that leaves 3-4 OOC opportunities (games) to acheive those goals. When you are in the GFC you'll do the same thing.
The teams you will play OOC are those teams that need money (small fanbase) or SOS boost (maybe you'll schedule SanDiego)...and you'll play in Fargo because it gives you the best opportunity to meet those three objectives.

That's how it works in I-AA. If you don't like it, go back to D-II.

Watch and learn.

The formula for getting to (and through) the play-offs is simple.
Every successful program does it the same way (you will too).
The formula:
Schedule OOC games for max money (to upgrade facilities, recruit, be competetive), schedule winnable games for play-off consideration, SOS is usually a byproduct of conference play.
Win conference games to secure play-off spot & home field advantage.
Win at home, go to Chattanooga.

UM & MSU doesn't care that your feathers are ruffled.
We'll address your challenges of "fear" in the play-offs (most likely at Washington-Griz stadium). and before you start pounding your chest, know this: When last you visited, Hauck was in the first year of his first head coaching job (but he learns his lessons well). Next time we meet, he won't pull starters at half-time.

Please, I was just talking a little smack I wasn't looking for a lecture on scheduling. I know full well why the Griz schedule the way they do because NDSU did the same thing back in DII except without the buyouts. We just paid the teams and left them with no option of ever getting a return trip. As for your idea NDSU won't play UND until we are both on the same level since when we win now they'll just say it was supposed to happen. There is also a longer story about why we won't play UND but I don't want to get into that.

Do you have a link to the long version?
