You would think we would get the nod, but hey, we're going to be 8-3 so it won't matter.WyomingGrizFan wrote:Even if MSU loses next week the possibilty of a play-off berth is not out of the question although @ 7 - 4; even if PSU wins over Sacramento St., since that 14-0 game I would think MSU might get the favor over PSU by the Selection Committee. At least I would think so. IMHO.They would only have six if they beat Savannah St. So, most likely out.

Why is it that a team like NDSU is in "Transition" when moving up to 1AA and not able to qualify for the playoffs? I would think that any team taking a step up and able to put together a year solid enough to be considered for the playoffs should be in...seems like a dumb rule.

Every team moving up to I-AA goes thru it. NCAA rule (not to say that that makes it right).SenorWeezer wrote:Why is it that a team like NDSU is in "Transition" when moving up to 1AA and not able to qualify for the playoffs? I was thinking the same thing, but I could see the discussion going the other way, too. The head-to-head win cuts in favor of MSU, but PSU has the advantage of having had a much tougher schedule than MSU had (three I-A games). It just depends on which things the committee wants to assign the most weight to this year...WyomingGrizFan wrote:Even if MSU loses next week the possibilty of a play-off berth is not out of the question although @ 7 - 4; even if PSU wins over Sacramento St., since that 14-0 game I would think MSU might get the favor over PSU by the Selection Committee. It makes for quite the discussion: Who you beat vs. who beat you. MSU has beaten better teams, but lost to worse teams. The opposite is true for PSU with the exception of New Mexico, which will probably finish 6-6 in the WAC. They lost to better teams and beat worse teams.Grizlaw wrote:I was thinking the same thing, but I could see the discussion going the other way, too. In the end you have to go back to head-to-head. MSU won decidedly and PSU didn't even come close to scoring. If it weren't for that I might go with PSU.
