Still, I think Edwards was the recipient of white people affirmative action: the old man's connections. It's naive to think that if old man Edwards hadn't procured the turf and jumbo-tron that his son was the most qualified.
Does anybody think Bush got into Yale because of the diversity he brought to the student body?
Happens at every program at every school in the entire country. You think the WWAMI program at MSU isn't rigged - or at least favors those with some kind of connections? Good for Johnny Edwards, he seems like a pretty smart and nice kid, maybe he will turn out to be one of the few fine lawyers. Lord knows we need more of them. And I always get a warm, fuzzy feeling when I think about the great Johnny Montana's performance against us in 2002!

GO CATS GO!!!

Do you get that same feeling when you think about the 2001 championship game? He didn't have a great game, but he did manage to lead his team to a title, something golden boy Lulay didn't even dream of.

Nope.
There's a word for that feeling: vomit

To get rejected from UM's law school with a 4.0 GPA, a person would either have to be a convicted felon, or have a truly abysmal LSAT score (or something else seriously wrong with your background...really bad personal statement, etc.). Frankly, the fact that your friends apparently aren't sharp enough to not completely bomb a four-hour standardized test does not give you the right to bash John Edwards on a message board. He may or may not have been the best choice for our starting QB a few years back, but I have absolutely no doubt that he got in to law school strictly on merit.

Far be it from me to stick up for anything fiz related but I will take exception to that. He was a very solid BSC QB and deserved to be the starter. Fickle fiz fans were on his back constantly about that crap. I don't hold it against him because his dad is a hot shot lawyer.
Also, 3.8 GPA will most certainly get you into UM law school. My wife got accepted there with a lesser GPA than that. She wound up going elsewhere but she was in if she wanted to.
I do agree with the comment about Bush and Yale. It's actually easier to get into the Ivy League if you have influential Alum than a state school. Bush was rejected at UT Law.

I'm definitely not meaning to take personal shots at individuals. But come on, now. This is a smack thread.
When I want to be taken seriously, you can read what I post in the other threads.

I believe this had something to do with it. By BCS, do you mean Bowl Championship Series? If so, this makes very little sense.
I think his point was that fiz fans think they should be in a BCS Bowl. Sorry if that went over your head.
Anyone who honestly believes this is right on par with the cat fans who think they will definitely get a home playoff game this year. I love my team, but this is simply ludicrous.

You're right, I realized after a couple minutes that Edwards didn't play that well, though it was a defensive battle. Like I said in my next post, he did manage to lead them to a title.

Or the 25 out of the last 50 and now we're heading back towards 26 out of the last 51.

Get a clue - John's father did not procure the jumbo-tron or the feild turf
