No doubt!! I actually have been looking for a candidate to write-in as I don't know that I can vote for either guy and feel good about myself. Anyone have a good suggestion?El_Gato wrote:Not to pull this thread even further down, but yeah, doesn't our choice of Senatorial candidates make you sick?
One's an obvious crook who's sold his vote on numerous occassions.
The other is a guy who, along with his buddy Gov. Scheister, brags about "balancing the budget" (ignoring the fact that the legislature HAS TO do so every session, by law) and also brags about the fact that the good State of Montana government has $500,000,000 OF OUR MONEY sitting in the state's bank account!
Only a liberal would take pride in the fact that his government has STOLEN money from people at such a rate that they have built a half-a-billion dollar surplus!! Anyone ever hear Mr. Tester or Gov. Sheister offer to GIVE BACK THE MONEY TO THE FOLKS WHO'VE BEEN OVERTAXED the past couple of years...? Of course not; they're too busy trying to come up with new ways to spend it.
It sure would be nice to actually find ourselves voting FOR a candidate one of these days...

That said, Bozeman has been bringing in some great bands over the last couple years, and people in Missoula were actually bitching about how much better the Bozeman music scene was than the Missoula scene during that time.
Fact is ... both scenes suck compared to bigger markets (getting one concert every couple months doesn't compare to the options in larger areas), so Bozeman and Missoula, rather than slamming each other, should instead be hoping the each city continues to attract more acts ... and maybe even look at each other as complementary components of the same general music market. That way, maybe both will end up getting more bands to come to town, and people in both towns can take advantage of seeing some great live music by traveling to both.
It always seem bizarre to me that the Cat/Griz rivalry starts extending to hating the towns that both schools are in. Both cities are very cool places, and I hope both continue to get more and more of all of the good things to make them even better.

Grizh8tr is a little over the line by calling Conrad a crook. There is not one member of congress who hasnt accepted a gift of some sort from lobbyist. Don't let the liberal media fool you. Stuttering Max spent a lot of time in the Phillipines in the 90's at lobbyist expense. Fatboy Jon is already on the take with all of the out of state special interest money he has accepted. Tom Daschle's wife is a lobbyist who had a lot of legislation go her way when her husband ran the Senate.
You don't have to like Conrad, but he is no more guilty than the rest of them. I'm not saying this is right, just the way it is.
I agree 100% with you regarding the left over money. The other little known fact is that the current surplus is a direct result of the last budget written by Gov. Martz.

You can watch liberals cry on the spot if you actually show them what happened to state coffers and citizens' pockets during her tenure. She inherited a deficit and turned it into a surplus. The average Montanan's personal income was a lot higher when she left too.BobcatOninetails wrote:The problem is that Denny can't until Conrad quits or loses.

She was a train wreck when it came to the press and they never relented either. But in terms of actual governance and results she was a very effective governor.
