Note to MSU Fans...

Post by appspinzone » Sat Dec 02, 2006 8:31 pm

Guys and gals...I've lurked on your board all week...holding my keyboard back...and really didn't plan to register or post. The play of your team and the game you gave our Apps after flying across the great wide plains made me change my mind. We were most uncomfortable until that last fumble--by Rolovich. You've added gray hair to my head. Congrats on your team's return to the post-season. Your guys did belong there. Maybe ASU'll have the opportunity of playing in Bozeman someday. That would be a great experience for our players and fans alike, I'm certain.

I do want to take exception to some of the "character talk" here. Fans do talk smack and that's to be expected. I really think that the smack-talk was a two-way street. If you dish it out, you have to be able to take it in return. You folks did dish some out; and really, none more than your head coach.

I read his quotations all week and saw several videos of his boastful talk about Big Sky mojo, flex this and flex that. It was his way of playing mind games--and I thought it was out of line; but that's just me. Then, after ASU's three 2nd Qtr turnovers today--he pretty much made fun of our frosh QB in his half-time comments. That's also, IMHO, out of line. You folks will never see or hear of Jerry Moore doing any such junk.

You folks also had some things to say about penalties. There was a lot of trash-talking going on the entire game in both uniforms. There was a lot of pushing and shoving--both ways. There were several calls against ASU that hurt; one for excessive celebration, one for questioning an official's call too long; and one case of retaliation caught in the act. It all started early in the game, however, with a no-call face-punch thrown by your #5 Marcosus LeBlanc. He never let up his junk; was called out for his actions twice by the ESPN crew; and finally drew an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty himself.

My point is that there are two sides to every story. MSU's not exactly a team of little innocent lambs here. *Soapbox speech now concluded!* :D

This game was played by two groups of proud young men--both of whom wanted to win very badly. We happened to win this one; but you made us very uneasy. Be proud of your team. I hope your kids, coaches and fans have a safe trip home; and I wish all MSU fans a wonderful Christmas.

Really classy post. Instead of dogging on our coach how about saying "good game cats--you played hard."

Well you have a pretty thin skin if you think Coach Kramer was trash talking. He was building up his team while at the same time speaking glowingly of App. State.

I thought I might never say this, but if the Griz meet App St. in the title game, I will be rooting for the Griz. While I am not fond of UM, at least their players are classy. Most of the ASU fans, players, and administration I observed were a bunch a classless hillbillies. Could you believe their Chancellor holding up the sign of a skinned cat saying Victim #26 - Who's Next? I can understand most fans acting childish, but could you even see Gamble or Dennison doing something like that. I believe they are a tad more professional. And what's the deal with ASU's players not shaking hands with our players after the game. Please, you're not that good.

Thanks for coming on and posting. But, I read enough of your "fans" posts on AGS this week to satisfy a whole year. This is not sour grapes, but I won't be rooting for your team to do well from here on out. Your fan base that posts, as a whole, is the most arrogant I've run across and I will revel in your defeat when the day does come (this year or not).

Good day to you sir!!!

Pukes, everyone one of the hillibilies. I know the Griz will beat the pants off of them.

We had them very nervous, and the score did not even come close to how much they were sh!tting their pants in the 4th quarter. No doubt, we were the best team they faced all year.

If not for the poor call by our coaching staff, we would have won the game.

I'm sorry you feel that way, but I can understand if you've been over on AGS. It's a scummy place! And to answer a couple of other posts. My very first statement was to compliment your guys on their play and on their season. There was absolutely no intent on my part to be sarcastic or unfair. I see I'm not welcome here. So be it! You still have a fine team that'll make another big run next season. Regards!

I heartly agree with everything but me thinks the junk talked by the MSU coach was just him being very confident, and it showed in his players. Jerry Moore is from the school of old and he's a traditionalist and doesn't talk down at all about anyone. It's a different style of being a coach me thinks. I didn't hear the halftime comments thought, and for the record, I don't post at AGS and don't even know the url. I talked a bit of smack in the smack thread here, but I expected it to come back ten-fold. I'm having fun with it.

Thanks for the great game and the great enthusiam.

I don't think that Mike Kramer talked down about App State at all. He showed confidence in his players and his scheme, and what coach doesn't?

He was very complimentary of the App State program in every quote I saw.

I was fairly unimpressed with the behavior of the App State players and fans. The QB trash talking after the TD at the end of the first half was just one of the things I saw that I didn't like.

The Chancellor of the school acting like a student was actually pretty entertaining. I wish that we got our faculty, staff and the entire of Bozeman excited about Bobcat football. I think the "Victim #26 Who's Next?" sign was pushing it though.

And the fans singing "Na na na na goodbye." Well, that was popular about when Elvis Costello was singing "Hot Hot Hot."

Good luck in the next round. You have a good team. Problem is, they seem to think they are good enough to be entitled to the title. It's not a "swagger" or even "cockiness." It's arrogance. Reminds me of another team that one a National Championship and had a big Streak going...

See ya next year!

What was with the App players refusing to shake hands after the game? Numerous personal fouls, refusing to shake hands, I hope someone WHOOPS App.

Stop with the holier than though stuff, please. I am sick of hearing about how the coach is old school and he doesn't talk down to anybody. Good for him. KRAMER DOESN'T EITHER. Kramer practically falls over himself complimenting the other team. He is just blunt. I didn't see the comments, but they probably asked about the play of your frosh QB and he probably said the three INTS helped...hate to break it to you, but that would be the truth. Kramer wasn't talking down to anyone.

“I think I've heard every coach that's coached against the Grizzlies this year sit up here and say, ‘You know, we're better than those guys, and we can beat those guys,' ” said Kramer. “You know what? The truth is you ain't. So shut. The heck. Up.

I'll chime in.The people at the game today, many I'm guessing haven't had a chance to write in,will have a different take on the game today. All of the MSU fans that we met had nothing but nice things to say about Appalachian. We met several of you guys and a few of us got on the bus and wished them a safe ride home, etc. The rough play was on both sides. The smack talking I didn't notice from our ASU players, but I'm sure it was there.#13 and Leblanc were classless.Leblanc pushed one of our D-lineman coming off the field, grabbed his crotch at the student section, taunted our coaches, and continually made a fool of himself. This WAS a two way street.I will not let Leblanc be my impression of MSU,just as you shouldn't let a few of our guys be your impression of us.As far as the shaking hands goes,I'm not entirely sure that it wasn't for the best and I don't know that it was just an App decision. As far as Peacock goes,I see nothing wrong with the victim #26 sign. All of our players go to the middle and pray and only 3 or 4 MSU players did that. You guys have a great team and will no doubt be back next year..best of luck.

Hey, 1badbobcat, Yea, thats really classless for a Chancellor to be a fan of his own team, isn't it. We'll all tell him that he should have been over on the MSU side cheerng for them. BTY, I guess we'll see your administration over on the opposing teams side NEXT YEAR cheering them on, right? You are absolutely clueless and the poorest loser we have played. Does slamming our team and administration ease the pain of your loss? Even our worst rivals, acknowledge the class and spirit of our Chancellor. What a DA you are. Crawl back under your boulder.

Perhaps someday in the future, you too will understand the need to vent, and then you'll realize that a poster from the winning team replying and adding fuel to the fire is really not welcome. You won, be glad, go home and pray that you lose next week to save yourself from an embarassing loss by the Griz in the NC.

From CSN's website
Montana State:

ON PLAYING AT APPALACHIAN STATE:
(Kramer)

“Outstanding experience for us.” “We’ve played in some pretty hard-minded places and I thought tonight was one of the examples of those places.” “The upper couple tiers of I-AA football are at Appalachian State, Furman, Montana, and James Madison and were not quite there yet.” “It just shows how hard-minded you have to be to play at a place like Appalachian State.”

ON ARMANTI EDWARDS:
(Kramer)

“Armanti’s tough and he had the ball skeeter off of some guys hands and some guys dropped balls at times but he made a great adjustment on the quarterback sweep he ran after the interception return down inside the five yard-line he and is a physically gifted guy.” “ I think in years to come people will dialing up there TV sets to see this guy play. “He’s not a postseason honors candidate for no reason and his offensive line is quite mobile.”

You have no clue about class, professionalism, or tact. I'd tell you to go look it up in the dictionary, but I forgot - you're from the holler and probably only have an 8th grade education. Here's to Youngstown State ripping you guys a new one.
