Shocking no one Tommy and Cam Miller are in.
Is the award based entirely on stats? Too bad if so, as that's eliminating leadership on and off the field, game time decisions, etc.luckyirishguy25 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 11:16 amUnfortunately Tommy didn't play almost a quarter of the season due to all the blow outs, bad for him for this but was good for the team as a whole. Had Tommy played the second half of our games I'd say he's a shoe in, but i think he doesn't have the stats for the award.
His stats are very similar to Millers. I think Miller was a lock until the loss at USD. Now going 12-0 might be the difference between the 2.luckyirishguy25 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 11:16 amUnfortunately Tommy didn't play almost a quarter of the season due to all the blow outs, bad for him for this but was good for the team as a whole. It's not cynical, it's accurate. Didn't Herder already say that's how he voted?rfischer94 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 12:05 pmIs it too cynical to think Miller will get it just because he's a Bison and everyone is so enamored with that program?
I lean that way too, but i think Tommy is better. I'll take Tommy everyday over Miller.rfischer94 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 12:05 pmIs it too cynical to think Miller will get it just because he's a Bison and everyone is so enamored with that program?
I'm not going to do the work to check but I'd bet Miller didn't play all 60 minutes in a bunch of his games as well so they might be more even there than we think. Doesn't take anything away from either one of them. They played well enough when they were on the field that they didn't have to take all the snaps.luckyirishguy25 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 11:16 amUnfortunately Tommy didn't play almost a quarter of the season due to all the blow outs, bad for him for this but was good for the team as a whole. To look at it more holistically:Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 11:25 amHis stats are very similar to Millers. I think Miller was a lock until the loss at USD. Miller Stats:

Tommy Stats:
Passing: 1980 Yards 68.7% completion 22TD's 1 INT Rushing: 640 yds 11 TD's
Yes, he did. They are both deserving to be sure. In just tired of the Bison getting all the shine.nanacat wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 12:12 pmIt's not cynical, it's accurate. The argument is a good one for both directions.Lord Vigo wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 1:57 pmTo look at it more holistically:Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 11:25 amHis stats are very similar to Millers. Mellott: 2620 total yards, 33 total touchdowns
The statistical angle is basically a wash. Miller came up small against the best competition this season. This should be Tommy's award all the way. It probably won't be and that would be the wrong choice.
Thats insane considering how much of the season Tommy spent on the bench.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 11:25 amHis stats are very similar to Millers. Miller has a higher completion percentage, more passing yards, higher efficiency passing which isn’t by much(1st vs 3rd), and he is taller.
Mellott has yards per completion by a yard (13.3 to 12.3), more rushing yards by nearly double, and more rushing touchdown by a 1/2 but you expect that with so much more rushing yards, and he does more squats.
Hard to really gauge yards per carry because so much qb run is unscripted improv, but I bet Tommy’s would be nearly double ypc.
Herder listed the number of snaps each had played a few weeks ago on Twitter and it was almost identical.onceacat wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 3:06 pmThats insane considering how much of the season Tommy spent on the bench.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 11:25 amHis stats are very similar to Millers.
