I pointed this out after the 2021 playoff run that him getting hit so often wasn’t sustainable in terms of staying healthy and some posters seemed to think it didn’t matter if he got hit 5 times or 30 times. Really made me question some of the football IQ here on such an obvious cause/effect scenario. The sad thing is the NDSU game showed a great balance in run/pass for Tommy and the hits he took only for him to be knocked out of the game on a play I was calling for Chambers to run but it’s understandable to run it with Mellott. It’s not as if he couldn’t get the yardage, I just felt Chambers gave the better odds.BFcatfan wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 1:55 pmHe’s injury prone because the amount of times he carries the rock per game. Putting your name in while your team is still playing seems crazy to me but I guess here we are.
So its not only now but also that final 15 day window in April post spring ball.In the Football Bowl Subdivision, a 30-day window to enter the transfer portal begins Dec. 4. There is also a spring window from April 15-30. It's worth noting that these windows restrict when an athlete's name can be entered into the portal, not when they actually transfer to a different school.

I think Sean was banged up(reaggravated something) after like his 3rd play when he pulled up hard on a run. Not sure he was an option by that point of the game.

I think we've seen those guys on the offensive side with Thomas, McCullouch, and Davis. Even that guy from Akron a couple years ago flashed(Stewart?). Best defensive player I can think of is Alston from Nebraska I think. Would like to see a couple big gets at LB to help out.KIX wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 2:45 pmSo MSU must work hard at getting some P5 dropdowns. The thing I hated about that play was, it was an obvious run play, so why go empty backfield when NDSU was gonna sell out to stop the run right there just didn’t like the obvious qb draw. Should’ve been some sort of read option with a running back to slow the defense down a little bit instead of having all 11 guys heading right for Tommy.PapaG wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 2:09 pmI pointed this out after the 2021 playoff run that him getting hit so often wasn’t sustainable in terms of staying healthy and some posters seemed to think it didn’t matter if he got hit 5 times or 30 times. Davis wasn’t dressed, right? And it was Caden Dowler I saw in the Southwest concourse at halftime so he must have not even been on the field. As for the RBs, who played the most seemed to change on a weekly basis and it was odd all season to me but all the backs were productive so it worked.technoCat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 2:46 pmDo we? Right before the snap the two interior DL simultaneously shifted to A-gap from B-gap on both sides of Perkins and that’s what blew up the play. Probably could have used a timeout and you’re correct IMO, a new play.jgrilley406 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 3:06 pmThe thing I hated about that play was, it was an obvious run play, so why go empty backfield when NDSU was gonna sell out to stop the run right there just didn’t like the obvious qb draw. I think fairly or not we'll lose many fewer players if we were FBS. The draft stigma is just not nearly as high for the FBS schools as it is for FCS, and a successful G5 FBS Player will probably have 6-10 games vs. Power 5 competition to evaluate on film over four years.JohnGotti wrote: ↑Mon Dec 04, 2023 1:41 pmAnother reason to go FBS. Sucks for us, I loved watching Omar flatten defensive players, I think he can play at the highest level so I can't say I blame him for wanting a bigger stage.

And we will if we are G5 or lower also. With TV deals there will soon be 2 or three power conferences with about 40 teams and then all the rest trying to survive. Universities will figure out NIL is unsustainable for most as it drags down the donations for other needs and programs. Will networks funnel money to conferences not playing with the big boys any more to fill in the weekday time slots or treat them like they do the Fcs.

Are there 84 scholarship players. And then some non scholarship that still get NIL. At 84 that is under 100,000 per kid if all got same. Would expect stars and starters get more?

Looks like just the team collective. Individual and other position group deals are probably even more.
