Re: Indoor facility
I thought I read when they broke ground that the facility was suppose to be completed in September 2023, but I found this article from December that indicates the facility will be completed by the end of 2023.

I think it may have actually bumped back again to May of 2024. 24 months probably wasn't realistic for that magnitude of project.

I can't believe you would post that name, in it's evil form, in the sanctified annals of the BOBCAT football forum. At least edit for the correct version of gris.

Took a few photos on Saturday of the fitness center progress. They still have a long way to go.

Re: Indoor facility
SDSU has a nice fitness center on campus that is open to public. I used it for $10. Is MSU going to allow it to be used by the public?

General public, no, unless they are there with a member. Alumni yes. https://www.montana.edu/campusrec/membe ... bpage.html
Interestingly, there is a specific Montana law that covers this so university fitness centers are not in competition with local, private businesses.

Re: Indoor facility
RFQ out for the indoor facility, $15M budget with a spring start date and winter 2024/25 completion.
The Indoor Practice Facility project at Montana State University in Bozeman, MT is a new “ground up" athletic facility located immediately southwest of the existing Bobcat Stadium, and north of existing irrigation pond facility. The site is on an existing parking lot and landscaping yard. The primary structure will be a pre-engineered, metal framed, tensioned fabric exterior building, which houses a 100 yard (two 10 YD endzones with 80 YD striped field between) artificial turf football field. Attached to the metal building will be a stick-built support building that will include entry lobby, restrooms, changing areas, storage, and mechanical space. The project also includes site improvements to the immediate surrounding site, including the landscape area around the building and a small parking area for the required ADA parking. A fire lane may need to be required along the south elevation. The rest of the parking will be part of another project adjacent to the main stadium, not in this scope but will have to be coordinated with other engineering firms.

Re: Indoor facility
From this description, there are no plans to put a track around the outside to accommodate the T&F program. Curious to know if there was ever an additional cost estimate to include the track and it was then decided that the final cost would be more than could be afforded.CATCO wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 2:41 pmRFQ out for the indoor facility, $15M budget with a spring start date and winter 2024/25 completion.

Re: Indoor facility
I’m sure there was an estimate and that might be part of the reason this project has been delayed. I know I’d love to see track have a true indoor facility like the one envisioned in the master plan.msutrackfan wrote: ↑Fri Sep 22, 2023 12:09 pmFrom this description, there are no plans to put a track around the outside to accommodate the T&F program. Re: Indoor facility
We were told that it was considered but the costs of something like was in the original master plan was just way too much with the increases in building costs since that plan was put out. Waiting to fund that type of facility would have meant years to decades before getting an indoor facility most likely.AFCAT wrote: ↑Fri Sep 22, 2023 12:32 pmI’m sure there was an estimate and that might be part of the reason this project has been delayed.
