Game Day Thread
1st play prediction: Fake middle screen, bomb deep to the slot.
Other predictions: At least one fake punt
Other predictions: At least one fake punt
I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal.

It was our special teams, created by the fact that we respect their "true" punter, that just cost us that 2 points and the ball.DCC2MSU wrote:Those roll punts are a joke. We got spoiled with Lulay and need to go back to a conventional punter. Do other teams really respect the fake with a safety back there versus a QB?

I remember when the fiz use to quick kick on third down about five times a game. it got to be a joke, and that's how our roll punt is starting to look. We need help on special teams all around.

No, it was a returner not knowing where he was (hopefully he wouldn't knowingly try to return it when the block was on). How many points did the roll punt cost us last week?torrybruce wrote:It was our special teams, created by the fact that we respect their "true" punter, that just cost us that 2 points and the ball.DCC2MSU wrote:Those roll punts are a joke. Can an ENTIRE special teams unit play any worse than that first half???
Average punt 20 yds.
muffed punt for a safety
average starting position deep in our own territory
give up several long returns
and then top it off with a high snap for the second week in a row resulting in a missed PAT to end the half
Pathetic

Don't forget a personal foul and a blocking in the back.BigSkyCat wrote:Can an ENTIRE special teams unit play any worse than that first half???

Yeah, the returner not knowing where he is is a COACHING issue...who's our special teams coach?!? The roll punt is a COACHING issue, the bad snap on the PAT, again COACHING. I wish Kramer would figure it out, like he did after the first year of him calling plays, and hire or have someone else FOCUS on COACHING special teams as he is obviously unable/unwilling to spend enough time COACHING the speacial teams units to make sure we don't have these types of mistakes game in and game out!
