I thought the defense looked good but I'm not sure if that's because they truly are good or if Sac just couldn't get anything going.
Case in point: Georgia was supposed to be awesome but were exposed as being pretenders by a team that actually does have an offense.
I'm not saying I'm not a believer in the Cats defense. I'm only saying that I'm not yet persuaded. The three-man front still concerns me because it has allowed opposing QB's a little more time to get off a throw or pull some Houdini crap.
I'd rather see a four-man front with the flex.
Overall, I think the defense did well and I hope they can continue that showing against ISU. No doubt that will be a tough one.

Cledus.... I went from a believer that our CAT D would be the best in the Big Sky... to wondering what the heck is happening.... back to believeing this may be the best D in the Big Sky. They are leading the Big Sky in QB sacks at 18 I believe... so they have come on in pressuring the QB. And we have improved greatly in preventing the "Big Play" that has hurt us early and in the past. They are the leading run D right now giving up 80 or so a game. If the Cats continue on as they have they will be in every game.... and if any offense continues to appear will have a great shot at runnig the conference table. ONE GAME at a time... next week we have to take care of things at Idaho State. Hey.... win there we are 3-0 on the road in conference.... unheard of most of the time.
Montana State Fighting Bobcats reign supreme

One key note is FORCE is actually the one calling/setting up the D. We sorely missed him when he was there. Sometimes our players were not lined up properly and that resulted in Big Plays. Credit goes to everyone though .. the coaching staff/players for sticking with it and the willingness to improve etc. The passion/swarming is totally there and I see PHYSICALITY (Kramerism) from our secondary now. That physical nature of our secondary is huge as it makes anyone coming over the middle/catching a pass on us shudder when they hear our footsteps.
Keep it up Cats, you are going to need A STELLER performance this week at ISU. We need the same type focus/energy you displayed at Colorado/PSU in order to win this game.

Our defense is playing very well if you look at CONFERENCE GAMES only. We are ranked 1st in total defense and 1st in sacks. Christoff, his staff and the players have put together a very solid effort on defense. We are the least penalized team. Our offense is third in the league in total offense, so they are holding their own. We have won 3 conference games in a row, which is within one of the most of any Kramer-coached MSU team. The 2002 team won their last 4 conference games. The 2003 team never won more than 3 in a row. The 2004 team won 5 in a row, but one of them was a South Dakota State non-conference win. They were 4-0 before losing their last 3 games. This team could be a factor in making the playoffs. Who would have thought it after the EWU game? Let's give them some credit!

The defense has been excellent in conference games, and that's what counts. None of us thought that we'd be talking about the playoffs after the Eastern Washington loss, and three weeks later we are doing exactly that. It's time to make this a special year and win out.
GO CATS!

Coach Christoff is very very good at game preperation and has been a huge part of the bobcat defense success since he arrived with Kramer and Kwiatkowski. The linebackers have consistently been a force on our defense over the years and that remains true today. Christoff has a young staff with him. Talk with any defensive players and they will tell you that Coach Christoff a great teacher. I am impressed with the maturity, aggressiveness, and confidence that we are playing with on defense. GREAT JOB BY COACH CHRISTOFF AND CO. GO BOBCATS
