He probably scored a much higher paying job. That probably wouldn't take much since I don't think position coaches make a huge amount of money. However, CdA isn't far away, and it seems like a more expensive place to live.

I heard from a griz friend that he is leaving to take care of parents - both of them are dealing with some major health concerns.

A coach wouldn't leave at this time of the year because of a difference in personality.

A tip of my hat to him. Praying for his folks and their health issues.

lol, wow. That seems like it would be a heck of a production to take that entire thing down, ship it off, make repairs, re inflate it I assume before shipping back, then re inflating it in Zootown? I wonder how they ship it... probably a semi truck or something.

Blurb from the Griz camp prior to start...

"Including summer and winter transfers and the prep players that signed with the program in December and February, a total of 50 new players will take the field in the first official practice on Saturday. Indicative of the new era of college football, 28 transfers and 22 incoming freshmen will all compete for playing time."

That's a LOT.

Someone on eGriz said it takes three semi trucks to transport the whole thing.

In questioning the Cats' chances for success in 2025, gris fans and pro-gris media glom onto MSU's roster departures. In predicting a first-place finish for the gris, the same folks completely overlook that um lost 49 (yes, according to Colter, 49) players from its 2024 roster.

If there is 1 reason for hope in Missoula, it is a pathetic schedule that includes 8 home games.

They were 5-3 in the BSC last year and finished fifth. I don’t think they’ve been better than the fourth best team in the league since 2011. In 2023 they led a charmed life. I thought Idaho, Davis and MSU were all better teams that just didn’t play well on that day.

What’s their BSC record since Hauck came back? The media is constantly talking about their easy home schedule yet they lost twice at home last year with arguably better talent. The CWU game won’t count for the playoffs unless they lose. If they go 8-4, they’ll be a bubble team not just literally.

Griz BSC Stitt (Cats):
6-2 (3-5)
3-5 (2-6)
5-3 (5-3)
14-10 (10-14)

Griz BSC Hauck:
4-4 (5-3)
6-2 (6-2)
6-2 (7-1)
4-4 (8-0)
7-1 (6-2)
5-3 (8-0)
32-16 (40-8)

If you prorate Stitt (28-20), Hauck is only four games better.

and they are set for the next few years as a portal team.
18 incoming freshmen
18 returning freshmen
what will their attrition be? 20-25%?
not good for depth.

I had to congratulate a Gris poster yesterday. In my words, he was talking up the Gris pretty strongly and I commented that hopefully their 50ish transfers can gel. QB was mentioned and I commented that if they are fortunate hauck won’t run off another workable, decent QB. The poster agreed and said he would love to see a long term guy come in and take the reins some day.

I just thought of a question, curious of others take on it. Do you feel that the Gris are one good coaching hire from becoming very relevant again?
