You guys aren't thinking big enough, I say MSU builds the world's first completely underground football stadium with tunnel entrances from all four sides of the field. Put a parking lot at ground level and you could charge thousands for fans to have a reserved parking spot at (above) the 50-yard line.
I worked at Stillwater mine for a bit and some of their shops underground could almost fit a football field. They could just leave the horses down there for old times sake and fans would be required to bring their own canary.

Other than some slight concern about the four-sided goalpost this was exactly as I pictured it. Thanks, AI overlords!

Can also be used as a shelter when the Yellowstone Caldera finally blows up.

haha good catch. The cross bar doesn't appear to even be attached to the post from the ground either. There's no need to point out that the uprights are way too short, so I won't. Of greater concern though is there are the wrong number of yard lines unless my eyes are playing tricks on me.

Some of you guys are offering up some crazy ideas. Is it just spring fever or have you all been hitting the booze, mushrooms or other psychedelics?

I’m just disappointed nobody consulted season ticket holders in row 31 and higher of section 116 about the view shed when building the practice facility. There goes the view of the Gallatin Range. Oh well. 8)
We are row 25. We’ve been laughing about this since December.
I'm in 121 and waiting for the eastside renovations to block my view of the Bridgers. MSU should start all over and excavate the field 100 feet underground.
The cost to run the dewatering wells 24/7 would break MSU.

Perhaps all of the above! The way I figure it, making silly posts about underground football stadiums at least beats another week of fretting about the transfer portal before it finally closes for the season and we know for sure who will be on the team this fall.

False. We build a hot spring facility above the thunderdome stadium. That practically prints money for us that we use for FCOA.

Unless we rename them geothermal wells. . . Then we could heat and cool campus with them!

Thanks for the pictures AFCAT.
It looks like on the westward facing wall there are windows way up high just a few feet below the roof that are somewhere around 3'-4' vertical and run nearly the entire horizontal length of that west wall.
It also looks like on the eastward facing wall there are vertical windows that are 3' -4' wide and are at least 10' tall probably closer to 18 feet tall spaced approximately every 40ish feet maybe about 8 of them on that wall.
The south wall looks to have a couple of long horizontal windows up as high as the west wall. The north wall looks like it has no windows. Oh the humanity!
If I'm at all close on my estimates of windows, then we're in pretty good shape with windows and natural light.

Remember they're going to be throwing the rock around in there and you know what they say about people in glass houses, so it might be good to not have too much glass.

Are the “windows” going to be glass or some other material that allows a diffused light in?

There is also going to be a big net around the field that lowers from the ceiling to catch any errant footballs. That will allow runners, etc., to safely use the track area while others use the field.

They appear to be Kalwall windows or similar, so not clear.

A very quick video of the indoor. You can pause the vid though and see some of the field markings.

Those look nice. Looks like the entries on each end will have those over the doors to near the ceiling. I assume they allow in some heat but nothing like regular glass windows.

Exactly. Better thermal performance, and diffuses the light to give daylight without glare.

Will the Cat head logos that show in the rendering be part of final structure.
