Pretty shocking that they didn't try to win the game on a Taco punt return. Wasn't that by far their best chance? Hmm.
Totally agree. Coaches gave up it seemed.
Absolutely did not give up. Took a risk and used the extra man on the line to try to get a block, which immediately puts the Cats in field goal range.
Ok fair enough. Just sucks that we couldn't pull it off. But that one play didn't lose the game, the 1st half was a mess. I just hurt for the team, the seniors. Lots to build on though.

Into the bracket, Vigen kept saying that you don’t change the game plan this late in the season. You keep doing what has been successful. Sooo, did they change the game plan the first half? Felt just so off.

Guys chill the f out. If we put Taco back there they kick it ob, we had to try and block it.
The clock stops on OB. They gave up. Nobody likes a quitter.
We have 2 blocked punts on the year. If the snap was bad or the punt wasn’t quick we could’ve got there. And how the hell do you expect us to go 80 yards in 5 seconds.

They would have punted it out of bounds.
Then we'd still at least have a hail Mary. But no, Vigen chose to give up. I wonder why.
Thought a blocked punt was his best option. Blaming him for a decision you disagree with in a miracle situation is dumb.
Yeah hard to argue. When we are praying for miracles it’s hard to second guess. I’ve given you some ****** over the years Papa but appreciate your love of the Cats.

Coming this close hurts.
The second half showed what this team was all about. Left it all on the field and the final stats are almost impossible close. Their lines won the game in the first half. No idea what happened but NDSU dominated.

Two PIs and then a 45 yard Hail Mary with no time left! It happens all the time!

One extra guy rushing the kicker sure didn't seem to matter.

Yup, what he did do is set that QB bar extremely high and let’s hope our next dude wants to step up and out do what Tommy did, and I hope that’s the case.

Seems weird to me getting upset about it, but do you. Block punt and return for TD is near as likely when percentages are that low.

I’m so sad for our boys. Proud of that 2nd half. Thanks Papa. You are a good guy. I love my BN cats fans. I believed in this team so much.

It’s awful when you kids work at a championship level and don’t get a championship payoff.

It's all a matter of odds. Putting 11 guys on the block instead of 10 doesnt increase your odds of blocking in any meaningful way. Putting Taco back to fair catch kills the clock with enough time to run one Hail Mary or hook & ladder play.

Then you have 2 chances at a 1 in 1000 play instead of goin all in on the block at 1 in 999.

Its also on the tail end of how badly they managed the clock at the end of the first half.

It was bad management to close out the half twice in a row.

Probably didn't make a difference but it was still a boneheaded decision.

I think that mostly they stuck with the gameplan too long in the first half when it was obvious that the MSU lines weren't holding their own. In the 2nd half, they used some creativity (on both O and D, but especially on O) to negate NDSUs advantages in the trenches.

That was the worst coached game (especially the first half) that I think I've seen. I'm just disgusted with our coaching staff. I, for one, hope Vigen takes the first offer across his desk. I'd rather rebuild with a coach who wants to win it all and shows it.

Anybody else wonder why Vigen just can't seem to beat NDSU, despite having the best team in the FCS who embarrassed the team that beat NDSU? I don't.

I'm out. We'll see what next year brings. I'll always cheer for the boys, but I'm getting tired of this. No excuse for tonight.
