The Winds of Change

Post by snarf » Tue Dec 24, 2024 11:49 am

The winds of change have been howling around the Bobcats this season. Change is inevitable. We all know that, but in this day and age of college sports, it seems even more pronounced that what you could often count on isn’t guaranteed beyond tomorrow. And as the season has progressed, we have often been reminded of how close we are to our next chapter while living in the present of our current.

Starting the year, we hopefully looked forward to what new coordinators would bring while now, we desperately hope that we don’t lose what has brought us to the precipice of a championship. We have celebrated with our seniors who will be moving on with nothing left to give, a picture of what can happen for those that chose to stay as Bobcats. We also prepare for the reality that some others on this team will also move on, offered opportunities beyond what we can provide. Hopefully, we celebrate with them too. We ready ourselves for a new president, while we joyously dance with our current.

You see, winds can be a tricky thing. While they can be utterly destructive, as many of our tailgate tents can attest, they can also be lifegiving. They can be withstood. They can be harnessed. They can be our ally. They can bring something that we don’t have the ability to currently see. From the gusts that started our season in New Mexico, to the bursts that rattled Bobcat Stadium in late November, we have opened our sails. We have not fought against it. We have embraced it. And, as we come upon that time of year that we reflect on what was and what can be, we can have hope for what those winds can bring next.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Beautiful analogy, thanks for sharing…

With success comes attention, with attention comes cockiness, with cockiness comes arrogance, with arrogance comes rudeness...and they wonder why I hate the Griz ! FTG
