The most unofficial Bobcat gameday thread - South Dakota, Semifinals

Post by BleedingBLue » Sat Dec 21, 2024 12:48 am

One last Saturday inside Bobcat Stadium in 2024. One more time for the seniors. One more MT flag handoff. One more rodeo runout. One more time before somebody heads to Texas on January 6th. Damn, what an exciting day!

The Coyotes of South Dakota invade Bozeman for what looks to be our toughest test to date. USD is big and physical, especially along the lines. Matching their physicality and making timely plays is going to be huge today.

Can the Cats front 6/7 slow down Theis and Pierre Jr. enough to force USD to throw the ball? Will the DL be able to negate the big boys up front for USD? Setting the edge and clogging up the middle will be huge for the Cats in this one. Getting pressure on Baumann early will probably be high on the priority list for the D, and I think they'll be up to the task.

Will the USD D be able to defend all the looks they get from our offense? Is it possible to eliminate the arm and legs of Tommy, while also keeping the RBs in check? The OL will need to be on it early and get a good push out the gate. The Cats have so many weapons and so many ways to attack a defense. We'll see which poison USD picks.

We're 4 quarters away from a return trip to Frisco, and a full circle playoff run for Tommy. This team just seems to be on a collision course with destiny.

Here's to 1-0, 15-0 and a spot in the title game.

Get up, it's gameday!

Go Cats Go!!!

Great write up! This will be the biggest test of the year. This offensive line is big, how will our Dline stack up? Brody has got his side and the rest of the dline has followed suit this year. I think we get 3 sacks. It may take 3 quarters though

Offensively, we’re going to need to stretch them out from sideline to sideline. I see similar play calling to the first drive of cat/griz 2022 when the bobcats drove down the field outside and up the sidelines for 5-8 a pop. Hopefully the results are the same.

This is going to be a great football game and I can’t wait to watch it.

I view each weeks games as a contest to prepare the Cats for what’s next. What better prep from the National Championship than USD! Beat these guys and it really doesn’t matter who the opponent is in January, the Cats are honed in and ready to take it all!

But, no question this game will be a test for the Cats…but it will also be a display of all that this team is! There is NO WAY that these seniors on this weekend will lose this game. Last home game for Tommy, Brody, Marcus, Rylan, and crew…last home game for Waded Cruzado as the President of the University she has taken to the next level! Last home game to raise the bar to heights never seen before in Bobcat football history… 15-0!!! =D^

Can they lose? Yes

WILL they lose? NOT A CHANCE!

This is going to be fun! =D^ =D^ =D^

Go Bobcats!

Brody Grebe explains it all. He basically said the same thing after the 2022 loss to SDSU, except it was the reason why not.

Wide awake at 6am planning my tailgate attack and warming up the vocal cords with caffeine. LFG!

Things we haven’t discussed this week - USD doesn’t play as well on the road and this the first road game since 11/16 when they pulled 6 point come from behind win off at UND. Also, UCD was able to run on them last week. Perez had successful carries as did Larison before he went down. UCD went through the air after Larison went down though, which isn’t that surprising, given Hastings’ productivity, and had 345 yards, plus over 400 yards of offense overall. Same story with Tarleton, over 400 yards of offense given up. The difference in both games, however, has been the turnovers. UCD gave up 6 and Tarleton another 3 and both games were still close. I think those turnovers are less a sign of UCD’s defense strength than they are evidence of two teams without a lot of playoff experience. Anything cans happen today, but I don’t see multiple Bobcat turnovers…we’re not great bakers. \:D/ \:D/

Offense can be had against the massive O-line which we proved against UT Martin too. Lucky for us, we have multiple offensive options and we have a nice LOUD, PACKED, LOUD, RELENTLESS FANBASE, LOUD stadium with an incredible atmosphere…and did I mention, LOUD?
