UC Davis is slaying Illinois. However, I’m surprised Davis is still playing their starters. Seems weird, you gain nothing to run the score up in the playoffs. I’m sure we could have hung an another 14 on Martin.

I think there was a bit of a chip on their shoulders. Plough made it pretty clear he was upset with Larison not being invited to the Walter Payton award thing.

Davis did not score in the 3rd quarter plus several minutes in the fourth and I think Plough wanted to get a bit of offensive momentum back. Larison was not in the last couple of set of downs when they scored.

ACU and Tarleton are similar opponents to UT Martin. It’s a great sign for MSU that the Bison and Coyotes struggled with them so much.

I disagree with your first sentence. The UAC is now possibly the 3rd best conference in the FCS, and I think both would beat UTM. UTM NEVER threatened MSU. ACU and TSU played very well on the road, especially TSU. That game was back and forth, and very much in doubt until the dam broke in the 4th for USD.

Lehigh is not good. Maybe my memory is incorrect, very possible, but Richmond seems to have under performed the last few playoff appearances.

The three teams are comparable. The fact that MSU cruised and the other struggles points to the Cats just being better.
