Re: Cats vs. UT-Martin 2nd round predictions
On one of coach shows UTM said their kicker was hurt, likely why the strange kicks last week, I like Cats return game and field position if they do that again

Cats kick one field goal probably at the end of the first half. UTM doesn't kick a FG because their kicker is hurt, they also miss an XP.

My kids keep calling UTM the Seagulls and I'm really enjoying that.

MSU 38
UTM 14 With 7 of those coming late in the 4th against our 2s.

Some people are a lot like slinkies....... Not really good for much, but it puts a smile on your face to watch them fall down a set of stairs.

Kickoff specialist is hurt. The kicker who punts, kicks PATs, and FGs is fine.

He kicks FG and Punts bit can't kick deep on Kickoff. That is unusual. See that sometime with FG, but usually punters leg is strong enough.
Do you see that as an advantage for MSU if they kick short and allow returns.

Absolutely, we've struggled since Arena (KO specialist) went down. Van Winkle is a really good punter, decent FG & PAT kicker, but really struggles to kick it deep on kickoffs.tetoncat wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 1:24 pmSkyhawks84 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 1:07 pmKickoff specialist is hurt. I predict a lot of sky kicks or squibs.

Sounds like the Bobcat fans need a cheer to help Shank-a-lot-kicks on kickoffs.

If the team's nickname for the punter isn't Rip, I would be really disappointed.Skyhawks84 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 1:39 pmAbsolutely, we've struggled since Arena (KO specialist) went down. Van Winkle is a really good punter, decent FG & PAT kicker, but really struggles to kick it deep on kickoffs.

I bet he kicks it so high he could take a nap.

Re: Cats vs. UT-Martin 2nd round predictions
I'm a bit of a contrarian when predicting games - reverse psychology as it were. Dent and Smith find a bit of running room early and a couple PI calls go their way to make it 17-14 Cats at half. Cats dominate in the second half though to win 45-17.

I think we run the 300lb DLineman ragged. It won’t be close.

It’s going to be a challenge. They have a lot of speed and are highly motivated to knock off the #1 seed at home.

I liked their backers when I watched. But I don't think I saw the speed you saw.

I agree on the raw speed, but the backers do look decisive and gap sound. We will see how their conditioning is at 5,000 feet. They are going to get a lot of snaps.ilovethecats wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 10:12 amI liked their backers when I watched. But I don't think I saw the speed you saw.

Number 60, Conner is listed at 6'7" and 420 lbs. Could be a misprint or he may have an extremely large turd in back pocket to slow him down.94VegasCat wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 8:21 pmI think we run the 300lb DLineman ragged. It won’t be close.

Went to look for myself, apparently he was shot 9 times in May 2023. Crazy that he made it back on the roster.St George wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 10:51 amNumber 60, Conner is listed at 6'7" and 420 lbs.
