I’m getting a kick out of the “they found their QB” narrative. They “found” their QB in the 2nd half against the 3rd to WORST pass efficiency defense in the FCS. That’s about as impressive as saying their defense was so much better after playing Poly and NoCo.
Exactly! A handful of those passing plays, the PSU CB's were playing outside leverage with no help in the middle which turned into an easy throw and catch for a long gain.

1. Don’t fall for trick plays or fake punts/field goals
2. Kick away from Bergen
3. No dumb penalties
4. Don’t let off the gas
5. Play Mony Mony

Punters are people too!!

I think Bobby gave us a little insight on his strategy during the Monday press conference. He mentioned that initially Davis tried to manage the game, and that's when they fell behind. Davis made their run when "they started going for it"....which I interpret to mean as playing a lot more high risk, high reward football.

So I expect UM to play high risk fooball. Lots of deep shots. Probably some trick plays. Probably going for it on 4th and medium/long. Probably selling out to block kicks....things like that. If we are able to make them pay for their high risk tactics, I think we win by 30+. I they catch us back on our heals and execute some high risk plays, they may have a chance.
That's about as poor of an analysis on Booby's part as game planning for #15 who didn't play. Proves he can't analyze squat. Davis made their run pretty much solely on bad officiating so I hope he does "go for it" with high risk plays upon which I am confident the Bobcats will capitalize upon. Only thing that would save him is the same bad officiating (only it would have to be a whole lot worse if that's even possible), as the gris aren't UCD as demonstrated in Wa-gris by 16 points.

Can't make up my mind as to which is better - 55-21 or 48-14, but 34-11 will do.

It’s not so much that they found him, but that they are now forced by injury to play him and the other guy sucks.

Bingo. That’s why I put found in quotes. They didn’t find anything. Their QB1(b) had success against essentially the worst pass defense in the nation.

It’s not Fife himself that makes me nervous as much as the whole team playing better behind a QB that they believe in.

That said, I’m still very confident in the Cats. But the brawl will always make me nervous. It’s just that kind of game.

as stated above, gris ride fife the whole game. they have no chance with ah yat. i think they will come out slinging the ball, lots of slants and 5 wr sets.
You will see screen pass after screen pass after screen pass. Fife will be filling his underwear after the first quarter. They had 6 sacks at UC Davis, this will be worse. The Cats are focused and determined to finish this season. They will punish the Gris for last years loss in Zoo town. We were the better team all year last year, we never got off the bus. Their on a MISSION.

Yes, I’m nervous too. Booby will have them ready to play with their hair on fire. We need to do the same and play aggressively throughout. Sometimes games go to whoever wants it the most and after last year, the Cats should play with a big chip on their shoulders.

Agreed. Fife has no idea what he's in for. He will melt down before the first quarter ends.

Or just not play outside leverage with no help in the middle like Portland did.

We were actually really tough against slants at UC Davis. Woodard had a great game. Chaz Davis made his plays too.

Folks I don’t think we need to be overly nervous. Last year our running wasn’t that awful as Tommy averaged 10.8 and Julius averaged 7.6. I don’t think they will be successful at stopping the run, especially without Gub, and we should be able to pass it well. The problem last year was we threw a LOT of deep balls because we got behind and tried to make the big play. This year we have seen a lot more shorter passes, especially on 3rd down. Defensively we will be fine. While Fife definitely improves their offense we should dominate their offensive line which will keep Fife off his spot and cause a lot more errant passes, he has a history of throwing ints. Gilman and Ostmo are phenomenal backs and they will make some plays but we are doing great against the run and this game should be no different. Obviously Bergen, Racanelli, Harris, Fontes, White, and Grossman can be very dangerous but as long as we get decent pressure on the QB and can keep everyone in front of us we will be just fine. On special teams heck we might even have an advantage. We have a punter who can keep the ball away from Bergen and their kickers have had slight issues. I have confidence in our kicking and keeping Bergen out of the return game is important.

As long as we don’t have silly turnovers, significant special teams mistakes, or a struggle to run the ball we should dominate.

Been thinking about this all day.

Confident: This team is focused and grounded, from the top down. We have an epic leader in Tommy, who the team supports and plays for. He is also an incredibly smart person, consider his degree. He's analytical, reads the field, learns from mistakes, and trusts his teammates. Others on the team are just as smart and know they got cocky and full of themselves last year, lesson learned. 1-0 has carried them to an 11-0 record and they're not finished. Also, it's in Bozeman, and this year's griz team, like I heard Colter and Ty say, is good but not great. Being good won't be enough to beat this Bobcat team in Bozeman this year.

Nervous: It's Cat-Griz, and the griz truly have nothing to lose. They're in the playoffs, but would love to be the giant killers, and humble the "little brother", and get number 75, like Bobby said. I don't think they have the horses, but with some trickery and dirty play, which they're known for, things could turn their way if the Cats don't maintain control.

My confidence outweighs my nerves. I think. :-k GO CATS!

Confident: We have several more great memes after this game like “t-bag a d-bag”.

Nervous: Boobie has been gaming the entire year with the 2 QB system just for Cat-Gris. He lost twice at home on purpose. He had Ah Yat take a dive last game and fake an injury. He then had Fife do some gunslinger heroics and they had a staged fight on the sideline. All to throw us off his game plan for this Saturday. Not sure what his real plan is yet.

Had Ah Yat played some gunner on kick teams and worked in as a WR too, I would know exactly what’s going on.

This may be the most confident I've ever been heading into a Cat/Griz matchup. The Griz are 6th in the conference in rushing defense, and... they haven't played us. They are giving up 158.8 yards and 4 YPC. It just seems like the Cats shouldn't have a lot of trouble running the ball, and if the Cats are able to run for 250+ on 6 YPC (those are average at MSU) then I just don't see the Cats losing.

So therefore I'm nervous because I'm so confident.
