northern colorado update.

-added rushing TD's, season list. Scottre is on pace to make the top 10.
-added Punting Average, season list. Hall is having another huge year.
-added individual passing touchdowns, season list. Tommy is on pace to make the top 10.
-Brody Grebe moved into the top 10 list for career sacks.
-Taco is on pace to obliterate every punt return list/record/career/season/etc.... guy is such a weapon!

Go Cats.
I too lazy to look, but I don't think there's a category for passing efficiency. Mellott currently has a 182.2 passer efficiency rating. This is due in large part to his 12 TD passes and 0 interceptions.
12 TD’s through 6 games is really good by any measure, but especially considering he has sat out the 4th quarter of at least 3 games and the 3rd and 4th quarter of at least one game. So he’s sat out over one full game up to this point.
So he's averaging 2/game but also close to 0.75/quarter.

Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

I look at the records listed on the first page and I would have to think that the record least likely to be broken is career sacks by Mark Fellows. Just an unreal number. 97 yard TD run is tough to break too.

Bobcat athletics is a business to the coaches, school leadership, and players. It's time the fans treat Bobcat athletics as a business too.

There are a handful of defensive records that are just crazy (not to mention they didn’t include playoffs stats back then).

Jim kalafat- 202 total tackles in a season, 1982
Corey Wilmer- 66 TFL career
Morgan ryan- 22 career interceptions

Widmer was a wrecking ball, and when we needed to get a stop or a TFL, you could almost mark it that Corey was going to get it!

“Crawford”, I fixed it.

All these lists are just copy and pasted over from the MSU football website (then I make updates as we go)…. It is pretty crazy how many mistakes, missing info, misspelled names, etc I have found over the years. #-o

Drives me frickin crazy. I wish they would just let me be the guy that updates it for them. Pretty confident I could do a better job than whoever has been in charge…. And I would probably do it for free. Ha

Thanks for doing this and always one of my favorite threads each week.

Take a look at the top of:
Individual- Touchdown Passes, Season
There's a typo on the top 3 ranking.

Thanks again.

So listening to Colters podcasts, a lot of talk this week about Tommy’s all time wins as the starting QB, and how that ranks all time for the Cats and Big Sky….
-I believe colter said Tommy is at 28 wins, is that accurate?
-what is the bobcat record?
-who holds the all time big sky record? Is it McGhee or Vernon Adams, and how many is that?
-Is there a top 10 list out there for MSU (or the big sky)????

@Colter_Nuanez or @TomCat88 any help?

Tommy has a chance at hitting some pretty elite milestones for wins as the starting QB, solidifying his spot as an all time big sky great…. It should probably be tracked…

2021 - 3
2022 - 9
2023 - 4
2024 - 7
Total - 23

Colter said 28 but that might include games he came in after someone else started. He should get credit for the 2021 win over Idaho. Or maybe I’m missing something there.

I actually meant to add an amendment to this after talking this out with Montana State sports information.

Tommy Mellott currently is credited with 26 "starter" wins. He also should get credit for two more wins that he finished.

The Montana State record is 30 wins by DeNarius McGhee. He broke Paul Dennehy's previous school record in 2012 against Sac State.

Vernon Adams went 28-6 at Eastern Washington. I credited him with 35 wins off the cuff, which is correct for career wins, but he went 7-3 at Oregon.

Dave Dickenson has the Big Sky record 33 wins, including the playoffs.

PS - the fact that Tommy played key roles as a special teams player, back up linebacker, receiver, Wildcat quarterback....even when he wasn't the starting quarterback...means there should be an amendment to this category...Still, if he and the Bobcats win out, he'll tie McGhee's school record. He could beat beat Dickenson if Montana State run the table all the way through Frisco....

Thanks for setting everything straight. Do you happen to know what the career records of Tommy and DeNarius are? I believe at one point Tommy had never lost a game that he both started and finished so he can't have many losses at this point, although if we lose after he goes out that counts against him, which is probably a majority of his losses.

Coach Vigen tied Mike Kramer today for the 4th most all-time wins by a head coach. Kramer did it in 7 seasons, Vigen did it in less than 4. If the Bobcats go 12-0 and win the national championship, Vigen would surpass Sonny Holland for the 2nd most all-time wins in Frisco. Hope he sticks around, his recruiting philosophy suggests to me that he's looking to build something long-term here and won't bolt for the first crappy FBS job with a pay raise but also a massive rebuilding project.

Are you sure? I’ve been reliably informed he’s very similar to Rob Ash.
