One other thing; Did anyone notice the ESPN play by play guy is the same announcer that called the W&M game a couple of years ago? We need to get him back more often. Good things happen when that guy is at a game.

Heard that several griz fans are saying that Idaho just isn’t that good and that’s why we beat them like we did. Let’s not forget that Idaho took the #3 Oregon Ducks down to the wire in week 1. Clearly not the same Oregon team that played OSU yesterday, but Idaho is a legit team. That was a beat down last night. Plain and simple.
Two things.

1) Who cares what Griz fans think?

2) Idaho is/was both overrated and still a good team. It was a very impressive win, and we’re looking like the best team in the conference right now.
Who do you think should be ranked above Idaho that isn't?

Incarnate Word? SEMO? Abeline Christian? dUMb?

I think its really hard to make the case that Idaho is overrated.

Why was Danny’s interception brought back to where he caught it?
"Inadvertant" whistle. Sure didn't seem like it affected Idaho chasing Danny down..
The thing that really frustrates me about this is if you inadvertently blow the whistle, why let the play continue after that? If you inadvertently blow the whistle you need to get on the whistle hard so everyone stops. Could have saved Danny's ankle if they had.
I may be incorrect, but I also thought that the inadvertent whistle occurred when Danny was attempted to be tackled around the 40.
The location of the ball at the time of the inadvertent whistle doesn't matter. Because it was a turnover, and the whistle happened after that, the ball returns to the spot of the turnover. If the ball had been tipped up in the air and a whistle blew, then an interception made after, the down would have been replayed.
In the NCAA the ball is dead when the whistle blows. The ball doesn't move, the play is dead where the whistle is blown.

To Vigens point, if thats the case, then that was obviously a late hit on Danny.

Thanks for the clarification. I wonder why they blew the whistle in the first place?

This is where this kinda turns into semantics, but I’ll explain myself.

When I say this, I’m not talking about where they’re ranked. I really don’t care about rankings, I just go off of what I see in regards to how teams look. I always thought Idaho looked good, but not a great team like many said. A lot of people put them on a similar level as MSU, and I just never agreed with that. Before the game I conservatively said we’d win by 17. That’s why I said I thought they were good, but overrated. They might be ranked high, and truly worthy of a top 10 ranking, but they aren’t close to the same level as MSU. I think SDSU is the only team that can play with us if we’re firing on all levels.

Exactly where I’m at too. Said we’d win by 14-17 and was pleasantly surprised by the 30+.

Dude is good for a low level national broadcast guy. Seemed to know what he was talking about, and he was very complimentary of our stadium and fanbase. I hope we get him for more ESPN games in the playoffs and in future seasons when the BSC has 5 ESPN games per season

Not accurate. If theres an inadvertent whistle, the play is dead at the spot where the ball is when the whistle is blown.

They blew the whistle because people are human and make mistakes. But then the same crew made a mistake on calling the incomplete pass that the receiver controlled with his legs, then later on the TD.

Thats a lot of mistakes.

You’re right, but UC Davis is playing well and will be a stiff test at their place. The cream is the Cats first, Davis 2nd… and the rest are 2nd losers. 8)

I’m not saying I’m not a little worried about UC Davis, but they just basically lost to Portland State. Barely beat Southern Utah, beat Idaho but it was a pretty even game. They’re good, but we’re a lot better.

Shutting down Larison seems to be the key. That's easier said than done, especially with how good he is catching passes out of the backfield.

He was in bounds with both feet when he had the ball in his hands. He juggled it and caught it between his legs. But he was out of bounds by then.

We have a weekly show with Eck! Vandals Weekly drops every Wednesday or Thursday. This is our second season of doing it. He's great to talk to.

I respect Eck a lot but even more now. The reporters gave leading questions about the PF call, the targeting call, and the sack that knocked the QB out of the game and he shut em down on all of them. They were legit calls or no call and griping about them is only something a loser would do. I've often heard coaches make excuses, say it didn't look like the right call to them but Eck did nothing of the kind.
