Re: Injury updates???
My best friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother’s girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who’s going with a girl who saw Tommy pass-out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it’s pretty serious.Catsrgrood wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2023 10:47 pmThat’s the third different thing I’ve heard about him.
All I know is that he was on the sidelines today, looking pretty normal, without any kind of noticeable limp, so that’s encouraging.

Re: Injury updates
My wife and I were talking with a couple a few ago that we’d just met. The lady was telling us the she knew Tom Mellut. I said who?? She repeated Tom MellUT. Said they were good friends of the MellUT family. Um yeah sure. I could tell by the way she pronounced it that she was full of bologna.

Re: Injury updates???
I understand that and I knew this would happen. My daughter works in the ER at the hospital and she was working Sunday morning after the SDSU game when 3 Cat players came in. One was Tommy (obviously) and he told them what he was there for. I just don’t like people speculating about injuries (especially the broken tibia) but also don’t feel like I’m at liberty to say exactly what it is. Sorry.BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 2:16 pmCare to share then? Coming on and telling people what they've heard is incorrect, and providing no other info is pointless.

your daughter know about hipaa? not very smart of her to tell you or you to post that as that means she talked to you about it....would not be that hard to figure out who all was working the ER wonder what the hospital would say?BgCATfan wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 9:31 amI understand that and I knew this would happen. Wow. If your daughter works for a health care provider and is telling other people what Tommy's injury is, I think she needs to be a little (or a lot) more careful with regard to health information privacy laws.BgCATfan wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 9:31 amI understand that and I knew this would happen. Oh christ, give the guy and his daughter a break. Talking about his daughter getting fired and whatever, come up with something else.

Re: Injury updates
I've watched the play Tommy got hurt several times over. It was a shot to the knee in the 3rd quarter of the SDSU game where Sean faked a pitch to Tommy lined up split left of Sean. The SDSU safety still took out Tommy and gave him a decent shot to the knee (clean hit and perfectly legal given the play call). I'm thinking its either a hyper-extension or Grade 1 knee sprain. He would be in a lot more pain and not walking around on the sidelines without any support if it wasn't. He could probably tough out a Grade 2 because he's Tommy but again...would've seen some type of brace or something on Saturday on the sidelines. I definitely don't think this is a Prukop situation where he had like a Grade 3 and tried to play at about 50% against SDSU in the playoffs.

I'm assuming this reply is to the post I made, which by the way, I have no idea where it went. I posted it and now it's gone. My computer glitched a couple of times while I was replying to another thread, and now I have a couple posts I previously made that are gone. Whatever.Hi-Line Bobcat wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 10:21 amOh christ, give the guy and his daughter a break. Talking about his daughter getting fired and whatever, come up with something else.
Yes, I said be careful of sharing that type of info, because it's ground for dismissal. I have a buddy who is in a similar situation at one of the Power 5 schools. Because of his position, I know exactly what the nature of his work is and who it is he treats. He tells his friends and family to don't even ask, because he's not saying anything because of HIPAA. He has said that he's seen people get terminated for sharing information. Granted, it's a much bigger school, and word gets around easily in a smaller community like Bozeman, but I'm just saying be careful. You would hate to see this guy's daughter lose her job because of that. In the end, we're all fans and we're gonna speculate, but there's just some information that's not our business. Put yourself in the position being these players' parents. I'm sure you don't want a health care professional talking about your son or daughter without their permission.

Re: Injury updates???
She knows all about hipaa rules and according to the hospital, she violated none of them. She wasn’t/isn’t directly involved in his care and the information was made by him to her in a non private area of the hospital. In fact he was talking to several people in the lobby area at once. That’s why I specifically mentioned “he told them” and not the two other players names. (Which turns out wouldn’t have been a violation even if I had). In fact the hospital will disclose to anyone who requests it if someone is in the hospital or not and what area of the hospital they’re in. Unless that person has specifically requested in writing that they don’t.justafan wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 9:36 amyour daughter know about hipaa? not very smart of her to tell you or you to post that as that means she talked to you about it....would not be that hard to figure out who all was working the ER wonder what the hospital would say?BgCATfan wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 9:31 amI understand that and I knew this would happen. Re: Injury updates???
Thanks for the clarification, my assumption on reading the post was that she was involved in his treatment somehow which would obviously be a different situation.BgCATfan wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 11:34 amShe knows all about hipaa rules and according to the hospital, she violated none of them. Re: Injury updates
Per Vigen today, the injury is non-surgical or ligament related. Likely either a bone bruise or hyper-extension so two to four weeks. Not trying to sound arrogant but if we get by Weber, we play Portland State and Cal Poly at home. The urge to sit Tommy in those games to get him 100% for the Sac State/Idaho gauntlet will be strong.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 10:29 amI've watched the play Tommy got hurt several times over. Re: Injury updates
Regarding injuries, losing Zack, Caden, and Lonyatta (I know, not injury) for the year really stinks. But, we have enough talented depth that we'll be OK. Just everyone cross your fingers that we lose very few, if any, more players for the season. Good news on getting some players back. I think Vigen commented on all my outstanding player questions, except Sumner. Poor kid, is he ever going to play for us again? Also Taco... assuming he's still on track for a late season return.

Is Lonyatta not expected to get cleared this season? How many years will he have to play?catatac wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 1:55 pmRegarding injuries, losing Zack, Caden, and Lonyatta (I know, not injury) for the year really stinks. Edit: Just saw thread on him. Huge bummer for him and the team.
