25% from the floor and 20% for 3 on a UW team we beat in a down year, and you say “boom”?

If you want to talk smack, go to the smack board. Moderators - please do something about this 5th grader that keeps derailing threads.

Looks like he'll have three years of eligibility at MSU if he takes advantage of his extra year. Very highly ranked coming out of high school, appearing in several national Top 100 rankings. Never really appeared to get it going at UW but the talent is clearly there!

No Big Sky school would have had a shot at getting this kid out of high school. He's definitely worth the risk of a scholarship. Maybe Sprinkle can push the right buttons to really get him going. Sometimes a change in scenery makes all the difference.

Absolutely. Despite poor numbers last season, he is most definitely worth the risk.BelgradeBobcat wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 8:29 pmNo Big Sky school would have had a shot at getting this kid out of high school. In regards to Sprinkle getting him going, my wish list for about 18 years running is STILL to get a knock down shooter. We were spoiled there for a stretch starting with coach himself. Then Justin Brown and Pete Conway. Hell, throw Lazosky in the conversation. Guys that when they shot, you were surprised when it DIDN'T go in. In this offense, I think a big time shooter would be a difference maker.

I'm excited to see him perform here. He's got a lock on the All Big Sky Hair Team!
While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."

Re: BOOM! Raequan Battle
Sounds like an introspective dude who was a square peg trying to be shoved into a round hole by the UW coaching staff. Super excited that the Cats get him for 3 years. Hopefully he blossoms into his full potential under Sprinkle's tutelage. If he does and Sprinkle has recruited the right complementary pieces, he, Belo and crew should win a lot of games the next few years, break the drought and go dancing at least once, hopefully more! IMO, MSU finally has the size/length and some depth with similar talent to legitimately compete for BSC titles.
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

I’m just liking this guy. And I think he made a great choice in Montana State, for all of his goals.

Re: BOOM! Raequan Battle
I've been thinking about this guy the last few days, and I'm excited for him and for MSU, but I'm also excited for the Native Americans in the northwest to possibly have somebody to look up to. I'd rather watch a good team from a place like Rocky Boy or Lodge Grass or Arlee than anybody else, at least in Montana. It's just so much fun and free. And when you talk to those guys, they help you understand just how much basketball means to them and their communities. They're from a warrior culture, and when warriors can't be warriors anymore, they lose their purpose in life. Basketball gives them a chance to still be warriors, and it gives so many of them so much life. But basketball ends for them, and sometimes it ends during high school because of drugs, alcohol, suicide, challenges with academics, or because they've started a family. For others, it ends because their game has never translated into the college game. "There ain't no plays", like Raequan Battle said. That's what makes it fun, but college coaches just look at it and realize there's not much they can do with that.
If he's able to be successful, it will be in part because Danny can find a way to make that "rez ball" style work at the college level. It will also take Battle making some changes to his game I'm sure, but hopefully in a way that he feels like he can play free. And if that works, there is some real talent in this state every year that just doesn't quite work most of the time at the college level. Maybe it can help MSU, but ultimately I hope it can help some of these kids on the reservations get out of the generational cycles of substance abuse, suicide and poor health that so many of them are in. I'm excited for this guy, and not just because I think he can help MSU win games.
