True. On the other hand, does the shift in offensive leadership clear up the rumored locker room division as well and retain some players?CelticCat wrote:I'm guessing we'll see that with Choate here soon to (players leaving). Granted, what I've heard is that it's mainly MT people - coaches, players, parents, etc. Stitt defenders are quick to point out that this is all due to players being lazy, expecting a free ride, etc. and Stitt is just cleaning all that up. I'm sure there is some of that going on, but there is more to it than that. I may be biased here, but I don't think Stitt's attitude, ego, and approach of "ruling with an iron fist" is going to lead them to a championship over there. Way too many pissed off people over there which probably doesn't help with team chemistry IMO.

I know 4 things for certain at this point:
- it was not injuries that forced him to leave
- it was not an issue with coaches
- it is a personal, and for now, private decision that was not easy to make
- we should all respect that decision and his privacy

The kid deserves privacy.Redshirt freshman Dalton Daum has left the Montana Grizzlies football program, the receiver confirmed to the Missoulian on Saturday.
"I just wasn't happy there and never felt like I was a part of the team," Daum said in a message.

Didy you get your info from Egriz? What did you just say about info falling on biased ears? Works the other way too. Point is, we really don't know either way. And I don't trust most of your "sources" on egriz for either side of it. We shall see.GRIZ1STCATS2ND wrote:Stitt is no Delaney and I can assure you, the situation simply isn't as you imply. Stitt is here to win and contrary to popular belief he cares about the kids, he really does. Life is tough at that age. Especially with the high expectations. All is well in Zootown. Best of luck to Duam. He has a lot going on right now. He will bounce back sooner than later I hope.

I understand and respect the (truly informed) opinions on both sides.
Define "we."
Don't know what?
I don't trust most egriz sources either, nor do I much of the "inside information" posted here. Disclaimer: "Don't trust" was maybe a little harsh of me to repeat. Often times people gather information from different "sources" who simply have different opinions of what is occurring.
Yes we shall.

Not anywhere near to the extent of what's happening at UM. Lots and Lots of players gone since Stitt got hired.CelticCat wrote:I'm guessing we'll see that with Choate here soon to (players leaving). I don't think anyone said or even implied that every High School coach in the state don't like him? I have no idea, but I know there are at least some MT high school coaches that don't like him.lutecat wrote:I don't buy the "high school coaches don't like him" I know a coach that really likes Stitt.

Re: Daum???
I never said he didn't care about the kids, I'm sure he does. All I was "implying" is that there certainly seems to be a lot of "noise" surrounding Stitt and the football program. More than normal for typical coaching change, IMO. Who knows how it will play out. maybe there really was a bunch of dead weight in the program that needed culled, and maybe there is nothing to the reports of widespread player issues under Stitt. Time will tell.GRIZ1STCATS2ND wrote:Stitt is no Delaney and I can assure you, the situation simply isn't as you imply. A few disgruntled boosters, players and parents will make a lot of noise. Re: Daum???
Regarding players leaving, I'm guessing that's why he signed 30-33 recruits on national signing day. When you have 95-100 student athletes on football team that gives reason for concern or Stitt is building his new roster as quickly as possible to fit his program. I don't know how many seniors he lost, but simple says he just signed 1/3 of his football team. Anyway, just my thought...Go Cats

I don't blame Daum for leaving UM one bit, I wouldn't want to play for griz fans either... All you need to do is look at the 15 page thread ripping Daum and the new Rape thread just below, those guys need to find lives outside of bashing teenagers and perpetuating rape culture.VimSince03 wrote:Dalton Daum and Matt Miller started to follow each other on twitter. Seems like everyone thinks he's lazy, and has an attitude problem. I've seen that from several posters, I've also seen the swords drawn for Stitt... which I think is great, because I see that guy burning every bridge in MT.VimSince03 wrote:I don't think anyone over there is bashing Daum. I will say I see a lot....too much.....Daum bashing over there. And Griz1st, it may not be 15 pages, but please do tell us that no one is bashing him at all because they are. It has devolved into a 75/Box argument now, so there's at least 3 pages of that fun stuff.luckyirishguy25 wrote:Seems like everyone thinks he's lazy, and has an attitude problem. Urban legend references something called the "Grady Bennett Rule". That legend says that an inter-conference transfer loses two years of eligibility.TomCat88 wrote:What's the transfer rule within the BSC?VimSince03 wrote:Dalton Daum and Matt Miller started to follow each other on twitter.
