He's not the only one leaving from what I heard. There are quite a few people that are seriously unhappy with the way Stitt is running the show over there. Granted, what I've heard is that it's mainly MT people - coaches, players, parents, etc. Stitt defenders are quick to point out that this is all due to players being lazy, expecting a free ride, etc. and Stitt is just cleaning all that up. I'm sure there is some of that going on, but there is more to it than that. I may be biased here, but I don't think Stitt's attitude, ego, and approach of "ruling with an iron fist" is going to lead them to a championship over there. Way too many pissed off people over there which probably doesn't help with team chemistry IMO.

I'm guessing we'll see that with Choate here soon to (players leaving). Just kind of the nature of a coaching change, and I worry in our case because Ash and Choate almost seem like polar opposites in their coaching styles.

True. On the other hand, does the shift in offensive leadership clear up the rumored locker room division as well and retain some players?

- it was not injuries that forced him to leave
- it was not an issue with coaches
- it is a personal, and for now, private decision that was not easy to make
- we should all respect that decision and his privacy

Redshirt freshman Dalton Daum has left the Montana Grizzlies football program, the receiver confirmed to the Missoulian on Saturday.

"I just wasn't happy there and never felt like I was a part of the team," Daum said in a message.

Didy you get your info from Egriz? What did you just say about info falling on biased ears? Works the other way too. Point is, we really don't know either way. And I don't trust most of your "sources" on egriz for either side of it. We shall see.

I don't trust most egriz sources either, nor do I much of the "inside information" posted here. Disclaimer: "Don't trust" was maybe a little harsh of me to repeat. Often times people gather information from different "sources" who simply have different opinions of what is occurring.

Not anywhere near to the extent of what's happening at UM. Lots and Lots of players gone since Stitt got hired.

I never said he didn't care about the kids, I'm sure he does. All I was "implying" is that there certainly seems to be a lot of "noise" surrounding Stitt and the football program. More than normal for typical coaching change, IMO. Who knows how it will play out. maybe there really was a bunch of dead weight in the program that needed culled, and maybe there is nothing to the reports of widespread player issues under Stitt. Time will tell.

Regarding players leaving, I'm guessing that's why he signed 30-33 recruits on national signing day. When you have 95-100 student athletes on football team that gives reason for concern or Stitt is building his new roster as quickly as possible to fit his program. I don't know how many seniors he lost, but simple says he just signed 1/3 of his football team. Anyway, just my thought...Go Cats
