You are right, both fan bases have a-holes. Still not sure how you come up with 95% of visitors think you guys are great. Just like the media said, there is an EXTENSIVE history of incidents with Griz fans. Take the NDSU incident, did the president of the university send a follow up letter saying you are great hosts? Your 95% is total pie in true sky. If you think 19 out of 20 rival visitors to Wa Griz say they were treated GREAT, you definitely have to take your maroon colored glasses off.Grizaddict wrote:Cataholic wrote:Sample size of one??? That is one example of thousands of examples!! How about when WA Griz stadium applauded the injury of your startimg QB? How about when Joe Glenn lost his first game as coach and he found home for sale signs in his yard? There are plenty of examples. A lot more than a hand full of letters. As a matter of fact, there seems to be a large contingency of Bison fans that think you guys are a-holes.
By the way, with this last incident, the news media noted that there is an EXTENSIVE history of problem fans. Definitely not just one incident.
Wait, you yourself stated, "as for your App St and NDSU comment....." So we were discussing those fan bases when you brought up the drunk fan harassing the NDSU player. I said that was a sample size of 1 person in your argument who gave the Griz a bad name. Overall it's easily 95% of app st and NDSU fans who think our fan base is as good as it gets. I can provide you with tons of examples.
So your most recent post with the examples above is an entirely different conversation...some would say apples to oranges. We could play that game all night. What about the cats fans who carved "FTG" into Alpha's car hood (he has the pics to prove it)? What about the Cats player who spit on our Mascot "Mo" who is like a 12 year old girl? You see this classlessness you speak of goes both ways, all day, every day. Which points back to my original post that you can swap "Cats" or "Griz" into any of those sentences and depending on the fan base they both work.

Aaaaah the irony here is so awesome!!!! Yes the NDSU president ACTUALLY DID send a letter complimenting the UM and the fan base for an incredible experience. He had glowing reviews. Here ya go......too funny man:Cataholic wrote:You are right, both fan bases have a-holes. Still not sure how you come up with 95% of visitors think you guys are great. Just a couple quotes from him:
"Your fans were some of the best we've ever experienced"
"The UM and Missoula set a standard for how visiting teams should be treated"
Aaaaa those maroon glasses you said I was wearing aren't so maroon anymore.

Nice letter. Still think your 95% is way too high. Who knows, maybe all Griz hostility is reserved for the Cats. Kind of goes against the title of this topic??? I mean, aren't Griz fans more likely to root for the Cats?

I think yes and no. I think there are a lot of bandwagon "lukewarm" Griz fans who will root for the cats all day. However I think the diehard Griz fans follow that line in the sand of " you're either a Griz or a Cat and there's no in between." I'd say those fans would never, ever root for the Cats in anything. Just as those Cats fans will never root for the Griz. Again, how it should be in my opinion as its a legit rivalry. Good luck this weekend. What's your gut telling you on the game? Shootout?Cataholic wrote:Nice letter. Still think your 95% is way too high. Who knows, maybe all Griz hostility is reserved for the Cats. Kind of goes against the title of this topic??? If Kupp is healthy and plays, it will be a high scoring affair. We know the Cats will score with so many weapons. 45-42 Cats. If no Kupp, I think the improved Cat D holds them to 28. Griz roll over Liberty proving how tough the Big Sky is. 31-17. Looking forward to a Cat Griz with national title implications in November!

Sports fans around Montana don't like the grizz, because their fans are obnoxious. Unless they're um grads or out of state bandwagon riders they don't like um. It isn't so much the team or school, but the fans. The um fans are obnoxious whether in bars or just out driving around. People basically just don't like teams with obnoxious fans. They're like Denver Bronco, Dallas Cowboy, Atlanta Braves, Notre Dame, BYU, etc fans.

Re: Poll finds Griz more likely to root for Cats
This whole post is truly ironic, A griz fan post this on our board to show how much better they are than us? And then bombarded by griz fans shoveling this crap down our throats as if it where true... If it where "true" this post would not exist. If griz fans truly rooted for the cats they wouldn't need to post this drivel, personally all this "poll" showed me is most griz fans are liars.
