Again, I do not think that Big Lou gets moved to offense. If you really watched him play defense, I don't think that he has the stamina to be a productive part of a sustained drive. He is a big lumbering hulk who is ideally suited to plug up the middle of the line. IMO he needs to stay on D and unless somebody makes a world class argument for moving him to Offense, I am convinced that it is a subject not worth bringing up again?083190 wrote:T-Jensen

94VegasCat has an interesting list that could be true. Tackles look solid. Would throw in Hansen at competition at either of the guards. Verlanic needs to gain weight (20 pounds) and we do need a backup center for competition and backup. Don't know if Brent will be put there again.94VegasCat wrote:Again, I do not think that Big Lou gets moved to offense. Lou needs more stamina whether on D or O (Actualy D needs it more because they have to run full every play they are in, O can rest, D cannot). Going to 4-3 (if they do, means faster DL not slower). Matakis and Saitaga are solid tackles that you do want. You also want Lou starting somewhere (being a BIG body) and the OL isn't a bad place for him.. Would not be surprised with him moving to OL (whether you want to bring up the subject or not) It will be one of those little surprises this spring.
I still expect a DL transfer/drop down.

You know what BobcatLionFan; I really respect a lot of your osts, so I will go along with what you are saying. Bottom line is that Saucedo needs to be on the field. Offense or defense, he is too big and too good to let sit.BobcatLionFan wrote:94VegasCat has an interesting list that could be true. Tackles look solid. Don't expect DeCock to challenge Jensen, he makes too many mistakes on o line reads and can't remember assignmentsprofisme wrote:Beniger will be good before he is done, I fully believe that. DeCock would be too big to be at OG, in my opinion. You don't want your entire OL to be too tall for your QB to see over. DeCock will again challenge Jensen for the starting spot on the line, but I don't think he will end up being anything but a backup next year. Siataga has the better build for OG than Saucedo does.

What was interesting to see was DeCock playing (blocking) TE in the Montana game. On most short yardage plays (he had about 5 or 6 plays), DeCock came in and played outside Hirst as the TE, putting Fig, Hirst and DeCock on the right side. Hirst and DeCock tended to blocked down and Fig pulled and kicked out the linebacker. It worked well. But then as noted, that is a simple play to block/handle.cornbreadfred wrote:Don't expect DeCock to challenge Jensen, he makes too many mistakes on o line reads and can't remember assignmentsprofisme wrote:Beniger will be good before he is done, I fully believe that.
