As the emotion of Cat-Griz week starts to fade (a little), my thoughts keep coming back to how far our program how come in just a few short years. The fact that we're debating playoff spots, schedule strength, etc. so soon after suffering through an 0-11 season is a testament to the job Coach Kramer, his staff and the players have done.

Of course, the next step is sustaining and building on the momentum. If Saturday's game illustrated anything, it was that the Bobcats have matched Montana's talent level on the field. Turf preparation conspiracy theories aside, this was the first time in a very long time I've felt the Cats would beat the Griz no matter where or when they played.

What hasn't been matched yet is the ability to do it year after year. Even the most fervant Grizzly fan would have a tough time not admitting that playing Cal Poly, EWU, Portland St. and Weber St. at home was a distinct advantage this year. But the bottom line is they won the games that needed to win to make the playoffs again.

MSU is in a position to get there. I'm hoping like hell they do.
